For years our favorite porn stars were ones with popped collars and golden locks, but the masculine influence of the gay bears seems to have killed the once-dominant preppy aesthetic. The days of the Bumble-and-Bumble- moussed, frosted-tip, blond-spiked porn star is officially over, according to our survey of nearly fifty working men, few of whom even have time for highlights.
While there's still a few emo-touched and teased twinks with legs akimbo, fewer than one-fifth of the stars we surveyed admitted to getting haircuts that cost more than $50, while the average coiff cost less than $30. Nearly 35% paid nothing at all. The top reasons? An increasing fondness for bald actors (it's a solar panel for a sex machine!) and a rise in DIY-styling, though we fear there are more than a few Flowbees in use.
Only a small handful still make the trek to a Sally Hershberger or Jonathan Antin -- Dark Alley Media star Aaron King thinks his $495 'do is TOTALLY worth it, even if he doesn't exactly pay top dollar. Take his run-in celebrity stylist Gregory Alan, who King met while bartending in New York:
"So this really tall super hot guy with great hair comes up and asks for something, I had no idea what it was, so I explained I had vodka, cranberry, and soda: take your pick. He laughs and compliments me on my hair. The night wears on and I keep serving him until he's totally wasted. He offers a quick blow-job in the back room then a free hair cut... After it was all said and done with, my free hair cut turned out to be the best fucking thing ever...
"Good hair is definitely the first thing I notice on a guy or girl. Bodies are hot. Looks are great. Hair however is one place a person has a chance to be creative and edgy. I wouldn't want to have a stylist apply box color Loreal from Wal-Mart. I mean every trailer park girl in the south has Color 42 with the do it yourself highlights. Shameful!"
