DC's gentlemen's clubs are gonna be empty tonight, ‘cause the National Press Club's hosting a real smoker this afternoon.  The gays marched on Washington in 1993. Louis Farrakhan led the Million Man March in 1995. Now, Americans for Truth About Homosexuality are "speaking truth to power" by presenting the videotaped depravity of San Francisco's Folsom Street Fair in an exciting multimedia format entitled "Tolerance Gone Wild" at the National Press Club... No word on whether Larry Craig is attending.

Videographer Allyson Smith documented the extended depravity with the sort of enthusiasm once displayed by mole-seeking gym coach Beulah Balbricker in Porky's:

"Twice we witnessed people posing for photos with totally nude men, one who had been masturbating at a curb, as if the latter were celebrities. The fair/freak show was truly an exhibitionists' dream, made possible by San Francisco's moral and legal laxity."

When not zealously filming nude old men in Oakley glasses and sunhats, or gasping at the whippings, floggings and "anonymous sodomies," Allyson and Americans For Truth president Peter Labarbera were taking "normalcy breaks" from "the bizarre and hellish fair." Whether these entailed trips to the water fountain, praying or staring at pictures of kittens, we know not.

UPDATE: Attendance clocked in at 10 people (Washington Blade)
