Dark Alley Goes 'Condom Free' in Hawk Debut Dark Alley Media is no stranger to controversy, but the founders Owen Hawk and Matthias von Fistenberg can expect even more blow back than usual—the independent NJ-based studio will release it's first bareback feature in mid-March. Owen Hawk's directorial debut promises raw holes, cum-bucket twinks, the breeding of "cum-whore" Tim Rusty (we await the results of the paternity test, but we think we know what it'll say!) and, of course, Dolby Digital sound. Charmed, we're sure.
Dark Alley's move to bareback (or as the studio so enchantingly puts it, "condom-free") shouldn't be huge surprise to anyone in the industry. The studio recently had it's GayVN-nominated 8 1/2 pulled from consideration after a Michael Lucas-led campaign had it disqualified for featuring some bareback shots in certain scenes. Dark Alley had debated shooting bareback content as early as a year ago to compete in a competitive market, but eventually decided against it. The sling-filled breeding video is only the latest volley in the safer-sex vs. bareback battle, but Dark Alley may be the first boutique studio to go bareback after having shot higher-end condom features. Longtime pro-bareback studio HDK advocated testing over the use of condoms recently and Chi Chi LaRue took her safer sex campaign to the consumer, asking viewers if "your fantasy" was worth the lives of the porn stars asked to produce it. In our recent survey of porn stars, many complained that there was a lack of adequate disclosure of information about HIV status between partners, but the study was biased toward those performing in condom features. No word yet from Dark Alley on how much discussion about HIV went on, or was needed, between the cum-hungry entrepreneurs. I'm realistic in my own life, and the constant assumption by the Condom Police that I'm somehow too stupid to know the difference is insulting to me and many others.

Going bareback is a choice. And while I love porn, I wouldn't whore myself on screen for any amount of money. That said, the question if "your fantasy" was worth the lives of the porn stars asked to produce it is misdirected. Ultimately, the "actors" need to make that determination.
