...Or maybe that's mostly Cialis. Anyway, it's Viagra's tenth birthday and gays everywhere will be celebrating tonight with a quick trip to the bathhouse for a protein-rich toast and a celebratory round of Superpoke the Power-Bottom. The Wall Street Journal is ringing in this blessed day with an article about how Viagra didn't really live up to the great capitalist hopes and dreams of manufacturer Pfizer, bringing in roughly $2 billion a year in annual sales-far short of the $20 billion a year the WSJ originally predicted. (*yawn*)
The porn industry can certainly thank their lucky stars for the advent of the drug and its longer-acting erectile-dysfunction-curing cousins Cialis and Levitra, saving untold millions of dollars in production time spent waiting around for models to get hard naturally.
We'll just use the occasion to be Debbie Downers for a second and note the multiple studies which have (surprise!) indicated the strong connection between the use of erectile dysfunction drugs and HIV infection-particularly when the drugs are used in conjunction with crystal meth. Maybe, kids, "crystal dick" happens for a good reason? Like the gods are telling you to put your cock away, take a downer and go to sleep at some point?
