Our favorite self-help loving porn star, Erik Rhodes, is doing a great job staying relatively sober, but he's finding that his embrace of The Secret has unintended consequences. Case in point: The once-hard-partying star found a gram and a half of cocaine on his morning walk to get the groceries. "How is that not god fucking with me?" he asked on his blog, Slipping Away, yesterday.
Author Rhoda Byrne's best-selling book, The Secret, teaches "the
Laws of Attraction," which suggest that one's mind has the ability to
create reality. Rhodes saw the film version of the book last month and
was a quick convert. According to the book, if you think about
something, whether negative or postive, you attract it. The once
hard-living Rhodes has previously found heroin on the street and been
slipped bags of crystal (which he then lost).
Though blessed with a new power, it seems Rhodes can't control it
entirely. "Why can't god let me find a 2 liter bottle of GHB," he
writes after the coke incident. "I think maybe in all my free time i
should walk around in my general area sniffing half full 7-up bottles
to see if i find something i actually want this time."
