With the tagline "The Boys in the Band... is not a musical," this 1968 stage-play turned feature film (dir. William Friedkin of Exorcist fame) hasn't totally aged well--what with all the bitter sadness and internalized homophobia of a bunch of pre-Stonewall gays--but it remains a charming document of historical homosexuality.
