How Did Gay Porn Enter Into NY State Assembly’s MMA Debate ?

NY state banned Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in 1997. They want back in. They got back in. But not before gay porn, show tunes, Fire Island, and Rosie O’Donnell entered the floor debate this week.

With the overwhelming passage of the bill 113/25, as reported by the NY Daily News, NY became the very last state to legalize the popular albeit controversial sport of MMA. The UFC is already planning an event at Madison Square Garden later this year. But one NY assemblymen seems to think the venue should be either on Broadway or NakedSword.

Despite intense lobbying, out Assemblyman Daniel O’Donnell, Rosie O’Donnell’s brother, was not for the bill’s passage. His floor speech on his opposition provided his fellow Empire State lawmakers with some entertaining, colorful, and off-color moments.

That seemed to open up the proceedings to a gay ‘ole time. Fellow out Assemblyman Matthew Titone, who did support the bill, made a pretty funny gay joke of his own.

Of course, when it comes to mixing wrestling with gay porn, that is nothing new around here. Apparently they don’t remember the “Battle of the Fat Cocks” matchup between Dylan Strokes and Kyle Kash

Any MMA/IFC Fans out there? Anyone else surprised NY is the very last state to make this legal?

  1. I don’t know Rosie’s brother was gay too. Maybe it’s a good thing Catholics don’t use brith control if they keep making gay kids at this clip
