[UPDATED] Exclusive: Gay Porn Performer Working For Men.com Tests Positive For HIV, Co-Stars Being Re-Tested As “Precautionary Measure”

According to multiple sources, The Sword can confirm that a male gay porn performer has tested positive for HIV. The positive results came back after routine testing for a scheduled shoot with Men.com.

Given that Men.com’s shoots are condom-only, it’s highly unlikely that the performer contracted HIV while on set. Also, the performer is said to have worked “exclusively” in condom-only productions.

When reached for comment, Free Speech Coalition’s Diane Duke confirmed the single case of HIV:

An adult performer has tested positive for HIV. This performer worked exclusively on condom only sets. As a precautionary measure, APHSS is providing retests for the small number of performers with which the infected individual had performed. All retests have come back negative and there is no indication that any transmission—including that of the positive performer—happened on set.

Duke would not confirm or deny where the performer had worked (or even his gender), but The Sword can confirm that multiple models working for Men.com (including one Men.com exclusive) have been contacted by APHSS and have been asked to come in for a retest. So far, no other results have come back positive.

Again, it’s important to reiterate that all of Men.com’s shoots are condom-only, and they have (quite clearly) a testing protocol in place. Meaning, the system worked and caught what it was supposed to catch.

ADDED: At the same time, why are (supposedly) private medical records routinely leaked to the media whenever someone tests positive for an STD? Studios that require mandatory testing should be very nervous after what happened this week. (If I were a performer whose private medical records were just leaked, I’d hire a good attorney.) So, in retrospect, the “system” doesn’t really completely work, because as much as I and other outlets are obligated to report this kind of news, we should be the last ones to know about it.

UPDATE: Manwin (Men.com) has ceased production on all shoots until all retests have been completed.

UPDATE 2 (6/15): Manwin (Men.com) has admitted to what I was first to report by telling AVN: “Third-party producers creating content for Men.com have been requested to cease all production until further notice. Men.com will wait on the APHSS to confirm when production may resume.” Men.com (Manwin’s sole gay property) is now a “third-party producer”? Is that how they refer to Brazzers, Mofos, Digital Playground, et al.? How’s the view from down under that bus, Men.com?

  1. Men.com has willingly used HIV positive Actors like Robert AKA ROCCO STEELE. Knowing he was HIV positive before they shot the Video and several others.

  2. Intrigue, suspense, lies, sex…who knew what, and when, and why didn’t they inform actors? –a formula for great tv show.

  3. A lot of the gay4payers have unprotected sex when they do straight work, but insist on condoms when they do gay porn–Keep living with the fairytale that straight women are clean but gay men are dirty..I would like to know which one tested POZ because I am all but certain that he probably contracted it during a heterosexual encounter outside of Men.Com.

  4. Beyonce's Turd Piles Might Block Out The Sun

Gurls, ya’ll know what this means?

They’ll have to bring back Rocco Reed to save the company.

Why…he is just the sexiest man I have ever seen!!!

    or

Lure Cody Cummings over to Menz to perform a full vid of his hit ASPCA charity single, “Heal My Pussy”

Why…he is just the sexiest man I have ever seen!!!!

  5. I am a bit confused by Men.com’s testing procedures. I worked for their site briefly and in a conversation with one of the producers at dinner was told that a certain Men.com exclusive was HIV positive, yet he’s STILL listed on the site as an exclusive. I don’t know if the producer had false info or what–but either way it seems dishonest and unethical.

  6. Manwin referred to their content producers as third parties in a 2012 press release. It’s not a new designation:

    http://www.xbiz.com/news/149821

They don’t appear to be marginalizing their gay content producers. Rather, they’re holding all the models used in all productions, gay and straight, to the same testing standards.

The protocols they’re following now — having other models tested, shutting down production — are similar to those used in 2011 when another performer tested HIV+ in a presumably straight production. In that case as well, there was press coverage, and the studios mentioned as responding by shutting down production included Evil Angel and Hustler. Both are straight porn producers. As in this case, the performer was not named.

  7. Gee, only one? after reading about wild escapes at Grabby’s and the many Hustlaballs, I can’t believe only one performer tests positive. What do they test with, a home pregnancy test?

  8. There’s a handful of performers who have worked for men.com who have also done scenes for bareback studios. Would not surprise me if one of those models came back positive.

  9. Someone on another industry blog made a very good observation that manwin’s press release to AVN/XBIZ subtlety threw men.com under the bus by making a point that they shoot “third party content” for the company.

    1. Yeah. Diffusion of responsibility is a common tactic. And of course, with the legislation being thrown around, the last thing they want to associate with the straight production side is HIV. Cause it is acceptable for fags to get it.

  10. Call me cold and uncaring but I am not going to loose any sleep worrying about the other performers being the studio is condom only it is highly unlikely anyone got anything other than anxiouswhen the news leaked and it was mnade into a bigger issue than it should have been.

  11. Well that’s sad for him but I don’t really see the point of mentioning the website in the title since they are a condom only company.

Pretty sure that you have an adult gay performer who becomes poz every week or so…if not more !

Condom sex is progressively becoming the exception among gay people.

They are mostly interested in “breeding” , being “cum dumpsters”, sharing their needle for meth, etc…

    It’s sadly the truth.

    1. half porco…the definition of a gay self loather. You actually think stereotypes the homophobes spew are true.

      1. It’s the truth, I’ve talked to a lot of gay people on websites such as adam4adam and gayromeo and most of they like raw dick and want to be “bred”.

The meth addiction among gay people is often linked to the P&P( party and play) lifestyle where they inject meth and take erection inducing drugs ( well for those who top) to last longer during sex and be totally fucked up, these people never protect themselves , then again if you take meth you mustn’t be too smart or worried about your health in the first place.

All this is true and researchable, there have been articles about it in several news outlets that are not “homophobic” at all.

Do your research and stop whitewashing everything.

        1. That there are articles written about something does not say anything about the extent of the problem. Journalist (most of them freelance) have to come up with interesting stories otherwise nobody will publish or read it. Many times “research” is not really research but opinion, hearsay and a lot of anonymous sources.

  12. While I don’t wish for anyone to catch HIV, I’m not going to spare him too much sympathy. Because assuming he wasn’t raped or involved in some other non-consensual scenario, he has no-one to blame but himself. I have no doubt he knew he ought to use condoms in his personal life as well as on set, and he chose not to. More proof that, as Jerry Douglas once told me, sex on porn sets can be the safest sex these kids have.

    1. You are completely nuts. While the risk is low, HIV can spread in freak accidents with condom only shoots, oral sex, and even bites. All have been confirmed before. Rare but not impossible. You dont have to have raw sex to get HIV. Wake up!

  13. Sad news for whoever it is, but i can’t help but to feel more concerned for my favorite men.com performers.

    1. Perez Hilton is Ron Perlman

A studio needs to make “gays on thrones” and have Andrew Stark star in it lol. They can have a porn midget play Tyrion lol.

    1. Why do some studios have mandatory testing policies in place? How do test results, which are supposed to be private, get leaked to the media? Why did Men shut down all production and cancel all shoots until all retests are complete? Is it legal and/or ethical for Men to fire the performer who became positive? All good questions.

      1. Perez Hilton is Ron Perlman

I know it’s none of my business who is HIV positive or not and I wish it wasn’t a media event when this happens. I hope within my lifetime I can read a porn blog and never see the word HIV positive unless it’s talking about the past because hopefully it’s cured at some point.

      2. 1. Because they want to appear responsible and not be compared to studios like TIM? 2. Someone who had an axe to grind with Men.com or a model that is anxiously waiting for his tests results? 3. Standard procedure? 4. Don’t know.

  14. I’m not sure what the issue is here. If he’s only working for a condom studio, then who cares if he’s poz.
There are lots of poz guys working in porn. Most studios test guys before they begin work, and they match poz guys with poz guys and neg with neg. It’s been done that way for years. If they work with a bareback studio like Cody or Corbin or Chaos, they go through rigorous testing before shoots, and know the other models results before they bb. One porn producer told me that 75% of his model applications are straight guys, and that 90% of them want to bareback, their request.

    1. “One porn producer told me that 75% of his model applications are straight guys, and that 90% of them want to bareback, their request.”

And you believed that? There is one born every minute.

      1. I do tend to believe that because the guys I hook up with (who are mostly “straight”) prefer bareback at an alarming rate–And they usually get twhen I insist we use protection, or give me a myriad of excuses (Im allergic, I can’t get hard with condoms, My wife will suspect if she smells latex on my penis)…

          1. It’s true, my friend–Gay men are a lot more responsible when it comes to condom use…Just browse your local craigslist…Anytime you see ads for bareback, it’s the straight/bi curious types that don’t care about condoms.

      2. Don’t models get paid more for barebacking? I’d guess that would be the main incentive for these gay for pay declared models barebacking on sites like Sean Cody, Corbin Fisher, and Chaosmen.

    1. To the contrary, I think this situation proves Michael Weinstein to be correct. The use of condoms on the sets where this actor worked has apparently successfully prevented the transmission of HIV.

  15. ***Breaking News*** A performer for Treasure Island Media has been confirmed, that he DID NOT test positive for HIV…Production has shut down, until all performers can be tested to confirm that they are indeed, HIV positive.

  16. Sounds like the opening of a men.com clip. A couple of guys all waiting for their test results, all scared, all horny, you know the rest.

  17. The threat is real there is no doubt about it. Most unfortunate for that performer. Since they are all protected nobody else should have reason to worry.

      1. HIV isn’t the death sentence it once was, sure. But it’s still a life-changing event, and I hope the performer is getting all the support he needs.

        1. Yes it is. If you don’t take your antiviral medicine, or don’t have insurance to cover the charges of obtaining it.

Also, I get the motivation of saying such, the stigmas associated with HIV are bad. But, the disease is still a problem because it compromises your immunity. So you have to monitor it for the rest of your life, and mortality will be higher for you.

HIV isn’t a walk in the park. Stop portraying it as such.

Also, if someone wants to know your status, you are obligated to tell them. REGARDLESS of your sexual practices with a condom.
