Facebook Hates Bears, Gay Kissing

TitanMen’s Jesse Jackman is calling for an immediate Facebook and Twitter protest after a photo he posted of himself kissing husband Dirk Caber got him banned from Facebook for 12 hours.

The reason: violating “community standards.” The offending photo was taken Monday at the gym, and it now bears Titan branding. Jesse has gone about trying to alert the entire gay blogosphere, so this protest should get pretty loud.

The photo clearly got onto the newsfeed of some Christian activist or other, and it garnered 2,713 likes and over 240 comments in less than a 24-hour period, and was shared 122 times. The majority of the reaction was positive, but someone flagged it, Facebook temporarily disabled Jackman’s account, and now he’s pissed, with good reason.

As Jesse tells Joe Spunk:

I received multiple public death threats after posting this photo, endured countless homophobic slurs, and received dozens upon dozens of hate-filled messages, and yet Facebook did nothing about those disgusting comments, choosing to censor love instead of hate… This is a travesty. Hate must not be allowed to prevail in this world.

Furthermore, Jesse says on Twitter that he’ll be filing a report on the death threats with the Boston Police Department.

Joe Spunk suggests that everyone grab a camera and take their own smooch kiss and post it to Facebook and/or Twitter with the hashtag #FacebookKissOff. Of course, those of us who aren’t porn stars with hundreds of fans who might be out in the Christian hinterlands where their Likes are being monitored by their bigot cousins are probably not likely to get the same mass response. Still, a groundswell of lip-locks could be fun.

  1. I’m slightly obsessed with the name “Dirk Caber”. Can you get anymore “porn sounding” than that?!?! Only if your name was Brock Masters, or Colton Steele!! hahaha!! You’re right, Facebook is VERY gay friendly. I’m sure it was some right-wing, Republican nut bag who reported it.

  2. Facebook is too big and some of its employees think they are the big shit and ban stuff left and right they do not agree with (or are told to delete it from other facebook account members).

But then there is also a similar problem with youtube where a clip – when enough members and users of youtube report a clip as offensive – gets pulled/deleted.

Way too many people spend their time, energy, and resources about getting into other people’s business in order to distract themselves from their own issues they should confront and deal with.

  3. As I’ve said on three other sites already, it is not a travesty at all, it is at most an overreaction. God, what a pair of drama queens. I’ll tell you exactly what happened: Some homophobic right-wing cunt reported the picture as inappropriate. The Facebook automated system shut down the page TEMPORARILY to give the actual humans who work there time to check, and when they do, they will realise it’s not inappropriate at all, it was just someone being a homophobic right-wing cunt, and the page will be reinstated. Blaming one of the most gay-friendly companies on the planet because of an automated system that is legally required to be in place is hysterical bullshit. Post as many pictures of gay kissing as you want, but your targets are the assholes who reported the pic in the first place, not Facebook.

    1. Considering one of facebook’s founders is gay… this is inherently stupid and trumped up by Jesse Jackman…or he really is convinced/paranoid that the world revolves around him.

There also is a copyrighted logo on the image, it isn’t owned by Jesse.

  4. Hey guys… thanks so much for posting this. When I’m unbanned tomorrow morning, I plan on posting more pics on my Facebook page of Dirk and me kissing. LOTS more. It seems to me to be the most fitting response. So again, THANK YOU for your support… and stay tuned.

    1. Clearly they are, when they don’t understand the mechanisms in place for users to block, refuse, and delete posts…and also the policy for which they have to abide by as users…

This isn’t a homophobic conspiracy. It is a waste of online bandwidth here…

  5. Take a look at Durell’s profile on FB. Besides the typical ghetto pictures peppered with trashy n-word language, pictures of his son (cute kid, but illegitimate with no mother in the picture. Doomed to a low rent life because of his loser dad) and the super gay selfie pic of his doughy physique, this guy is in no position to make judgement on anyone.

    1. Wow. For Durell, this must be great…getting all this activity/attention; for a guy like Durrell who basically has nothing going for him…and for Jesse as well. So they both seem to be getting what they want.

  6. Why do you even to need to do e-pda anyways? No one wants to see that shit all over their facebook feed (and by shit, I obviously mean all kinds of couples kissing). Kissoffs are one of the stupidest forms of political protest.

    1. Plus, dude, you do know you might also have gotten blocked (not banned, there is a difference) for writing the word ‘faggot’ (their censors/sensors do catch that nowadays, not for kissing your husband (who btw, you look hot and naked with–also against their user agreement). Geez, man, maybe next time think a little about these things before jumping to conclusions.

  7. there is a titanmen logo in the pic, there is copyright issues that facebook doesn’t want. AND IT DOESN’T MATTER THAT THE SOURCE IS JESSE.

  8. “Of course, those of us who aren’t porn stars with hundreds of fans who might be out in the Christian hinterlands where their Likes are being monitored by their bigot cousins are probably not likely to get the same mass response…”

    EXACTLY!

You are there not as your legal name/identity, but as “JESSE JACKMAN,” thus is a promotional PORN profile– which has different rules and regulations about COPYRIGHT, PORN, or SPAM….

The fact that facebook would even allow you, a gay porn star, to even open an account under your porn Alias speaks to their liberal attitude. Not only that, Facebook offers plenty of options to remove posts on your own profile…Dummy. Or block people from accessing it.

You are just trumping up drama for promotion sake.

  9. Who cares-So fucking irrelevant! I know of a gay couple that was bashed by a group of men in Pittsburgh, this is a waste of my fucking time!

You ought to be shamed, Jesse. You actually feel Facebook banning of PORN/Sexual depictions, takes any precedent over ACTUAL discrimination experienced by average everyday men and women?!?

You are a user of facebook and agreed to it’s bylaws and rules. If you don’t like them, LEAVE!

    1. Apparently I am missing something here that you can see that I can’t.. I see two adults kissing with NO nudity or sexual acts being performed.Unless you count being shirtless; Nudity! Is Facebook’s guidelines homophobic? And do they allow same sex couples who are not nude either to post pictures of themselves kissing is what I want to know.. If this is the case and ONLY same sex couples can post pictures of themselves embracing or kissing then I will close my account immediately. I will not support a company and that being Facebook that blatantly contributes to homophobia and gives no logical reasons why they would ban or suspend accounts other than a cop out that you are in their judgement violating their “community standards”… What a convenient way to promote homophobia!
