We're basically rubbing our hands with schadenfreudic glee over the unfolding fight to the death between Madonna and Guy Ritchie. With his recent "gristle" comment, it has become readily clear that rudeboy Englishman Ritchie plans to spare no insult in running old Vadge through the ringer.

AND we're now hearing that for some stupid fucking reason, she had no prenup with Ritchie and that he now stands to take HALF of the Vadge Empire, or roughly $250 million, which would put him among the diamond-encrusted-dildo ranks of divorcées Juanita Jordan (who took $168 million in a settlement last year with basketball legend Michael Jordan) and Anna Murdoch, who settled the costliest divorce ever to billionaire Rupert Murdoch for a cool $1.7 billion back in 1999.

Below, in honor of Proposition 8--which, if it passes, will outlaw gay marriage in California--we've prepared a timeline of notable celebrity divorces, beginning with Mary Pickford's pioneering "quickie Reno divorce" in 1920 and including such highlights as Liz Taylor's double divorces from Richard Burton and the ever-"complicated" Denise Richards-Charlie Sheen divide. For all you gays rushing to the altar before November, let these public disasters be a lesson: call your lawyer and whip up a prenup.  Now.
