Playgirl introduces Randy Jones with, "As the cowboy from the Village People, Randy Jones needs no introduction." Um, yes he does, Playgirl, because if you hadn't started that sentence off with "the cowboy from the Village People," we'd still have no fucking clue who this guy was.
Once a girl but now a woman, Playgirl is folding after 35 magical years. And with its last issue, it throws the boys a bone by featuring one of the gayest apples in the tree, Randy Jones. These days Randy is super busy promoting an album, writing a book called Macho Man and stretching wife-beaters over the underside of his scrotum. Randy posed for Playgirl once before in 1979, and he tells the magazine how nervous he is to make this encore 30 years later. "I got balls, big ones, to have the courage to allow two photos of myself taken thirty years apart, then be placed side by side for comparison."
At least they didn't make him pretend to be straight.
Below, the cover of this final issue and Randy's three page spread. Click to enlarge, if you care.
