David Forrest, Nick Capra and Craigslist Erotic ServicesDavid Forest isn't sad to see Craigslist go. The world's most famous male madam says that Craigslist "erotic services" section – which the site agreed today to take down -- was a serious drag on his business.

Coupled with the sagging economy, Forest (pictured here with Johnny Castle) says that his "private meetings" business with top adult stars has been down 50% from a few years ago. He tells The Sword:
"[Craigslist] has been a thorn in my side.   Even my best clients will cruise through the CL erotic services ads since it’s a known fact that there are some very hot guys that just post an “occasional” ad there. The [money] they want are usually LESS than what they could get if they were to make themselves available through FORESTmeetings. Many of my “former” clients want to pay much less for the boys … and certainly don’t want to also have to pay MY fee in addition!"

The ever-colorful Forest calls Craiglist Erotic Services "an amateur hot dog stand" and "a cancer" on the escorting biz, but some high-end escorts like Nick Capra ("Hookie" winner for Best Overall Escort) will be sad to see it go.

Craigslist was low-rent, sure, but you'd get a better looking class of client. You'd only charge $150 for a "tug job" [massage with release] rather than the $250 you could get on Rentboy because a 22-year old college student could never pay the higher fee. If they were hot, I'd give them a break. Sometimes I'd do it just to get laid.

Given Capra’s admission yesterday of his A-list Hollywood clients, we might just say that he’s lucky. It's that type of attitude, however, that gets Forest indignant:
Why would a guy think an hour of his time is worth $300 when he’s bought via RentBoy but he’ll do the same hour for $150 [on Craigslist]?

Unbeknownst to us, it seems, Craigslist "erotic services" was actually a Hooker Outlet Mall where you could make a closeted college students pay you for sex. No wonder the business model didn't last.

Madam Forest needs a reality check....there is a recession going on here....who is going to pay for his stupid service when I can become a member of his "clients" websites and set up a meeting myself for much less. Get a real job Forest, stop being a piranha on gay men. And your a spammer and constant email sender besides. I could care less about your opinion on anything. You Sunday gossip column needs to go back into retirement.

Craigslist was a major drain on his business because it actually met the needs of consenting adults better than Forest ever could. If Forest and his stable of men markets to high income individuals or those with lots of disposable income, then Craigslist was perfect for the middle-average to low income guys (those that want to massage or escort occasionally/privately and those that pay for such within a limited budget.) David Forest is utilizing poor logic thinking that with craigslist out of the way, his business will rebound. His business does not cater to the common man. It capitalizes on them. He still doesn't get it and there are many other established sites that do the same thing without charging you an "introduction" fee which for heaven's sakes...is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!

WTF? you gotta be kidding me. David Forest himself advertises on CL in the Erotic Section. I even remember him solicity for a hooker offering "recreational" goodies in return. Dude is a hasbeen and a major rip off. It is one thing to be a talent agent or whatever but the reality is you are and have always been a pimp and the world has changed alot since 1981. The fact that somebody would pay an "intro fee" to basically get an email address from you to hire a hooker is a joke. For the record, you can hire Johnny Castle via his own myspace page.
Also, the boys are now all over the Causal Encounters section on CL. I saw about 15 ads in one page.
