 On a blog called Queers United that on any other day we'd probably rather huff paint than read, comes news of a hen who, through some accidental damage to her ovary, managed to "transition" from hen to cock.
Cheers, you butch hen you.
The F2M cockerel in question was named Georgina, but now goes by George, and hails from Chulmleigh in the U.K. A (probably dyke-ish) worker at the hen compound where s/he lives commented:
"It took around two years but George has a cockscomb and seems a lot happier than she was. I think he looks amazing.
"He always had slightly hairy legs which was a bit of a giveaway. He doesn't lay eggs anymore and crows every morning - it's quite a turnaround."
Of course this post sent the insufferable commenting community of Queers United into a tizzy trying to decide if this counted as a "transgender" bird or a "transsexual" bird, with one anonymous commenter whining:
Most trans people can read your intent in this, just so you know. It's not really funny nor is it cute. Trans people insist on correct pronouns because we have subjectivity--something a chicken just doesn't have. Nor do chickens have gender. I wish you'd stop attempting to report on things you regard as "trans"--you never get it right.
Here here. We'll take our freaky masked trannies over barnyard news any day.
