As you may or may not have heard (or cared), San Francisco's been abuzz with the world premiere of Gus Van Sant's Milk, which went down last night at the Castro Theatre.
All the stars and statesmen showed up, all of whom we have probably gushed written about at some point this year--Sean Penn and wife Robin Wright Penn, Josh Brolin (who was looking fitter than he was on SNL two weeks ago) and Diane Lane, James Franco, Emile Hirsch, Diego Luna, hottie screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, Gus Van Sant, T.R. Knight (who was there just 'cause he's gay) and his 19-year-old playmate, handsome SF mayor Gavin Newsom and his latest wife Jen Siebel, etc.
Though we could not score a ticket ourselves, we've got some pics of the red carpet below via Bill Wilson. Look there for more.

And these last four images (including the one of local ubiquitous tranny Donna Sachet) come via Tim Wagner at SF Weekly and the AP, via SFist.
Also, if you've been living under a non-gay rock and somehow missed it, here's the trailer. Despite the dust-up yesterday over the marketing of the film, we still think it looks good.
