 When we heard Janice Dickinson was going to host the GayVN Awards with Margaret Cho and Alec Mapa, we peed ourselves with excitement. Who better to whip a room full of pushy bottoms into shape than the foul-mouthed, whip-cracking, Elder Stateswoman of Supermodeldom?
Besides, we've yet to be on a porn set where someone didn't reference Top Model or Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency as they posed for pictures. Sadly, we were only able to make it through a few questions before she managed to unceremoniously hang up on us. Oh, well. It was fun while it lasted.
You've been able to go beyond fashion to come a cultural icon. What advice would you give to a porn model who wants to move off of the boxcover and into the mainstream?
It'll never work. Once you do porn, the major companies won't touch you. The odds are slim to none. Proctor and Gamble ... they want the girl next door...
For commercial work, sure, but what about editorial or to move beyond porn in general?
Listen. I love porn stars. I look up to them. I hate to be blunt but it's not gonna happen.
No. Uh. We appreciate your honesty. But porn stars do a lot of photo shoots... as a professional photographer yourself, what advice would you give to a porn star who wants make their shots look a little bit less, um, "men's magazine."
Wear clothes. You don't stand there with your package bulging out ... I understand what you're trying to do, to tie [fashion and porn] together, but it's not going to work. There's no comparison.

I don't know what that means. She can come wash my car if she wants.
