Wireless exec Henry T. Nicholas isn't a porn mogul, but maybe he should be. The former Broadcom CEO was indicted today for backdating stock options ... and slipping ecstacy into the drink of a business associate. According to the Wall Street Journal and others, Nicholas indulged in drugs himself, often in copious amounts. To wit:
- Nicholas stocked a warehouse in Laguna Niguel
with methamphetamine, coke and ecstacy. Later, rather than bother
bringing the drugs out, he furnished the warehouse itself, installing
art and high-end electronics
- Flights on his private planes were often so filled with marijuana smoke that pilots needed to use oxygen masks.
- He made his employees help him get prescriptions for Valium.
- He hired hookers and escorts for him and his associates.
- He
asked his dealers to provide him with detailed invoices for their
services, ostensibly to write them off as business expenses.
Ultimately,
he was done in by his bad business dealings, but those of you who think
you're being sly in your drug-fueled text messaging and MySpace
messages be forewarned: the feds are not as stupid as your mother. His
code words for drugs -- which included "party favors" and
"refreshments" were easily deciphered. Â
