SteveLady300x300.jpg San Francisco drag superstar and the first ever Miss Trannyshack, The Steve Lady, passed away last night at home with his partner and father at his bedside.
The cause was said to be cancer.  Featured prominently in the 2005 Trannyshack documentary, The Steve Lady was known for high-style, high-drama numbers including her famed "Girls on Film," and to this day young SF drag queens like Candi Gurl are told "You were giving me Steve Lady up there" when they pull off particularly flawless performances. The Steve Lady had a stunning ability to pass as a bonafied woman and was quite a stunner in man-drag as well. As one friend put it, "The most glamorous woman and the most handsome man I ever met are one and the same." On her website, close friend Juanita More has been collecting tributes ever since it was announced that The Steve Lady was in poor health.

Below is a video tribute made for the 2007 Silverlake Film Festival.
