Heartthrob-du-jour Emile Hirsch appears on the covers of the the May issues of both Flaunt and Another Man magazines to promote his new movie Speed Racer, begin preliminary buzz for Gus Van Sant's Milk, and give cub-chasers everywhere accelerated heart rates by stripping in a pair of cut-offs underneath a waterfall in Hawaii. Shot by high-gloss celebrity photographer David LaChapelle for Flaunt, Emile inspires a more rustic shoot for the artist, more commonly associated with studio effects and technicolor artifice, by leaping through fields and proudly displaying his furry chest.
Speaking about his role in the forthcoming biopic of slain gay rights leader Harvey Milk for the first time, Hirsch, who plays activist Cleve Jones, says "I just did this film called ‘Milk' with Sean Penn and Gus Van Sant
about Harvey Milk. I think it's going to be a really good film... Milk represented change for a lot of people, and was a catalyst to
that. And his eventual assassination similarly mirrored Martin Luther
King." History lesson notwithstanding, the macho pics (and some behind the scenes photos) await after the jump.
