GayVNs 2008: More, More, More! (Drunks, Drag, Tans)

Two+ hours and countless fart jokes later, the 2008 GayVNs are over. While Derek and Romaine were limited to a five-minute intro due to bad press and an industry revolt, Lady Bunny hammed it up with Laugh-In segments and Benny Hill-style humor. High-larious. GRUNTS and Link were the big winners, but before we go back to our regularly scheduled pornography, we offer this uncensored look at the highlights of the best award show we've seen in awhile. Award highlights:
Best Videography: Brian Mills, H20
Best Director: Chris Ward and Ben Leon, GRUNTS
Best Picture: GRUNTS, Raging Stallion
Performer of the Year: Jake Deckard
Best Sex Comedy: The Intern, Lucas Entertainment
Best All-Sex: Link: The Evolution
1. Romaine and Derek's Intro Segment
Who said lezbins don't have a sense of humor? Derek and Romaine did a
stand up job by substituting themselves with actual potted plants in
their intro segment. Really? We're just glad WE didn't have to host.

2. Chi Chi Proves to Be the Host With the Most ... Without Even Hosting
Referring to the popular disdain of Derek and Romaine, Chi Chi reminded the audience how good she looks in comparison. Ouch! Of course, she and we had to admit that the duo didn't do half-bad, after all.
3. Michael Lucas in Bottega Veneta
Bitch looked fierce and it had nothing to do with Marc Jacobs. In other news, the Lion of Chelsea admitted that he was behind the disqualification of Dark Alley's 8
1/2 (for its bareback scenes).

4. Chad Hunt's Neck Scarf
His most fashion-forward moment since this full-arm baby tattoo.
5. Jake Deckard's Double Win for Best Performer and Best Actor
We're fearful that the actor-director-producer would beat us to a pulp
if we didn't mention that the man who became Sgt. Haole in GRUNTS
finally got his due.
6. Ben Leon and Chris Ward win for Best Director and Best Picture, GRUNTS
We're a little biased here, as we were on set for the production, but
since Raging Stallion is the perpetual Bad News Bears of the industry,
and since they've never taken home Best Picture or Best Director, we're
a little farklempt. "The one that I'm most proud of, oddly," says
Raging Stallion prexy
Chris Ward, "is best editing. I pride myself on my filmmaking and
that's the root of it. It's a testament to our technical ability."
7. Tory Mason's New Haircut
It's avante-avante! And the same flaccid mohawk that Chi Chi has out of drag. You can't hold the twink still but really, who wants to hold down the next Abe Lincoln.
