Porn director-turned- private investigator Paul Barresi
claims that he's found no evidence of Tom Cruise's rumored homosexuality, despite
the connection to Scientology, a gay vague haircut and a seemingly endless
stream of court-challenged claims by former lovers, according to In Touch Weekly. "Everything I've
found and everything I know points to Tom being heterosexual," Paul told
the magazine.Oddly, it was only a year ago that Barresi was in the
opposite situation – facing legal threats from Cruise's celebrity legal
eagle, Bert Fields, to remove a claim by Barresi that he had found evidence of the star's sexcapades with a West Hollywood escort. The 59-year-old porn director, who
worked through much of the 90s with disgraced celebrity private investigator
Anthony Pellicano, had previously detailed how Pellicano would purchase
celebrity stories from the tabloid reporters before the gossip was made public,
spending tens of thousands of dollars on damage control. While we have no idea
how much a reversal headline-like last week's forced-sounding "Finally The Truth"-on In Touch Weekly goes
for these days, we hope they held out for more than the $25,000 Pellicano
reputedly spent on similar matters.
Barresi himself, of course, is no stranger to being in the
company of a few good men, while not ever actually being publicly in their
company. While he's shot numerous military
movies and even appeared in gay porn, he's never had sex with a man on camera.
His alleged romantic relationship with Scientologist John Travolta garnered him
plenty of unwanted attention when he sold the story to the National Enquirer in 1990.
Barresi won a GayVN Award for his non-sex role in Velvet Mafia, and we have to wonder if he
wasn't drawing on his private life when he found motivation for his role as
mafia don Mason Avalon:
