And in more porn-performers-on-trial news this Friday, we get word that smalltime Canadian twink model Luka Magnotta — who got nabbed in Germany in 2012 after a worldwide manhunt after allegedly mailing around the dismembered limbs of a Concordia University student he accused of murdering — is finally at trial.
As The Sword reported back when he was caught, Magnotta was hardly the “gay porn star” the media made him out to be — he made a scene for Street Bait, and posed for BadPuppy like 9 years ago, and that’s about it. Magnotta, now 32, has been dubbed “The Canadian Cannibal,” even though it unclear whether he actually ate any of the dead body he chopped up.
As the HuffPo details, Magnotta’s murder trial finally began this week in Montreal, and he’s accused of slaying 33-year-old Jun Lin.
Video of what Magnotta did to Lin, which may also have included sexual assault, was apparently uploaded to a website on or around May 25, 2012. A year and a half earlier, Magnotta had apparently uploaded a video of himself killing two baby kittens using a vacuum bag — a crime that led animal-rights activists to ID him to authorities after the murder video appeared.
But then Magnotta decided to start mailing the body parts around.
In the days following the slaying, Lin’s torso was found in a suitcase near Magnotta’s apartment. Later that morning, authorities were called to the headquarters of the Conservative Party of Canada to investigate a suspicious package. Inside, they found Lin’s severed foot and a note, police said. A second body part — Lin’s severed hand — was found that night inside a package at the Ottawa Postal Terminal that was addressed to the Liberal Party of Canada.
Other body parts of Jun were found at the apartment building; his right hand and foot showed up at two Vancouver schools.
