I noted the other day the seemingly alarming news that Sean Cody had taken a break from recruiting new models. But it looks like it’s part of an overall strategy to produce fewer solos, and that might be good news for some fans although it’s not great news for the cause of finding new hot faces.
GayDailyHot finally got some clarification from the Mindgeek/Sean Cody team, who say that in cutting down their release schedule to three scenes a week (instead of scenes every two days), they’re moving away from the practice of alternating solos and action scenes. So, instead of producing 182 scenes a year, half of which were solos, they’ll be producing 156 scenes a year, with only 52 solos one third of their total output. That means there will be a guarantee of two action scenes per week, which should placate fans who were crying foul over the new schedule.
But, you figure, out of the 91 solos Sean Cody was customarily producing every year, say 25 percent of those guys never came back to fuck or be fucked. And another 60 percent of them just weren’t that hot. That left approximately 14-15 guys who would go on to do more work for the site and potentially become “stars.” By cutting that potential down, if you figure the same percentages, that leaves us possibly with only 7 or 8 guys out of the 52 who’ll go on to become reliably hot members of the stable like a Tanner, Brandon, or (ahem) Jarek.
Mindgeek rep Brad Picken tells The Sword, regarding the Sean Cody decision, “We will be focusing on finding higher quality talent with the hopes of establishing long-term relationships and bringing back fan favorites, as well as having location shoots every couple months (potentially more if they do well).”
So that means more gangbang weekends and trips out of town with the boys, which are sometimes fun.
And this means that the release schedule going forward will be Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at midnight or early a.m. East Coast time (or Sunday night, Wednesday night, and Friday night on the West Coast). And Monday will probably be the day for the solo, but the schedule’s been all over the place lately, and this week’s solo Asian/Pacific Islander-looking Paul, who you can see below came out today, Tuesday.
