I can’t believe it’s already been a year since the first season of Naked Sword’s Golden Gate was released? Now, it’s been nominated in multiple categories at the 2012 XBIZ Awards. Here is the full list of nominees:
Gay Studio of the Year
Channel 1 Releasing
COLT Studio Group
Hot House Entertainment
Jet Set Men
Suite 703—the studio that has shut down and re-started more times than Trevor Knight’s career—being nominated is laughable. Last time I checked, they aren’t even shooting content anymore. Oh well. Maybe they scored a nod because they’re straight owned (by Naughty America) and the XBIZ Awards are, after all, predominantly a straight affair. Also, Falcon and Raging Stallion are lumped together as one now?
Gay Movie of the Year
Anthony’s Weener (Jet Set Men)
Assassin (Lucas Entertainment)
Cock Tales/Raising the Bar (Rascal/Channel 1)
Full Fetish (Titan Media)
Golden Gate: First Season/The Perfect Ten/Seduced by San Francisco (Naked Sword/Raging Stallion)
Jury Duty (Titan Media)
Muscles in Leather (COLT Studios)
The Other Side of Aspen VI (Falcon Studios)
Sex City 1 & 2 (Kristen Bjorn)
Trunks 6 (Hot House Entertainment)
All well deserved, but unless you count Raging Stallion’s co-producer credit on Golden Gate, this is the first time they’ve ever been shut out completely in the Best Movie category. Yikes.
Gay Director of the Year
Kristen Bjorn, Sex City (Kristen Bjorn Productions)
Tony DiMarco, Golden Gate (Naked Sword/Raging Stallion)
Chi Chi LaRue, Cock Tales/Raising the Bar (Channel 1 Releasing)
Joe Gage, Jury Duty (Titan Media)
Michael Lucas & Mr. Pam, Assassin (Lucas Entertainment)
Brian Mills & Paul Wilde, Full Fetish (Titan Media)
Steven Scarborough, Trunks 6 (Hot House Entertainment)
Chris Steele, Anthony’s Weener (Jet Set Men)
Chris Ward, The Other Side of Aspen VI (Falcon Studios)
Kristopher Weston, Muscles in Leather (COLT Studios)
Gay Web Company of the Year
Buddy Profits/Next Door Entertainment
Channel 1 Releasing (C1R.com)
Maleflixxx.tv / Sureflix
I’m still waiting for someone to tell me just what exactly it is that Cybersocket actually does, aside from put on awards shows, but here they are alongside content producers, nominated for being a “web company.” Uhhh, OK.
Gay Site of the Year
Another eternal question: What is the difference between “Gay Web Company” and “Gay Site” (other than an excuse to spread the nomination love around)? Also, Peter Le of Peter Fever is straight, so…yeah. Then again, so are all the guys on NextDoorMale, and CorbinFisher, and BelAmi, and…I’m so confused.
Gay Performer of the Year
No Cody Cummings?!
Congratulations to all the nominees. The ceremony is set for January 10th in L.A.
