2022 XBIZ Award Nominees Announced

XBIZ announced the nominees for its 2022 Awards, which includes a handful of gay categories—and for the first time ever some inclusive categories where gay performers earned nods. Who are you rooting for?

The 2022 XBIZ Awards will take place Sunday, Jan. 9 at the Hollywood Palladium and once again coincide with the annual XBIZ Show, which unites industry professionals from across the globe. To be eligible for a nomination, movies and pleasure products must have been released between Oct. 1, 2020 and Sept. 30, 2021. This year, a handful of categories were inclusive, and some performers who are popular in gay studios made it onto the (mostly female) lists: Dante Colle, Rhyheim Shabazz, Felix Fox, Skyy Knox, Jacob & Harley, and Griffin Barrows. What do you think of this strategy? Dante won “Performer of the Year” last year, an apparently inclusive category that XBIZ didn’t explain very well during the broadcast; while Max Konnor won Gay Performer of the Year (see more about the 2021 winners here on The Sword). With these nominations, Dante becomes the first-ever male star to earn simultaneous nods as Male Performer of the Year and Gay Male Performer of the Year.
