Well, not exactly. But good for BUTT for giving their readers a way to express themselves throughout the summer. The magazine isn’t supposed to be back until early next year, so I guess this is the next best thing? Screen-printing naked men onto cotton?
Oh, I’m sure it’s all fine and cute and seasonally appropriate, etc. I like BUTT. Maybe not enough to spend $50 ON A TOWEL, but enough to respect their strategy for maintaining brand awareness while their magazine is on hiatus:
BUTT magazine is pleased to announce that we have collaborated with American Apparel to create five special-edition summer beach towels guaranteed to give you pleasure whenever you need drying off. Be it the beach, the pool, the shower, or the bathhouse, these towels will get you noticed and bring you together with like-minded individuals.
Is that what you want–to be noticed? Isn’t that what everyone wants? I guess so. The towels will also connect you with “like-minded individuals,” so everyone who wants to be noticed can be together…noticing each other.
Each design features a different BUTT favorite in signature pink and black: artist Brian Kenny, Colombian fashion student Juan José Quiceno, Hungarian adult film star Arpad Miklos, and two new finds, well-hung bear composer and lyricist Ernie Lijoi, and sexy photographer Devin Elijah. All models were photographed by longtime BUTT contributor Marcelo Krasilcic and a portion of sales from each towel will be donated to the Ali Forney Center, a NYC organization providing housing and services to homeless LGBTQ youth.
Ahh, it’s for a good cause. Cool. Because if pornographers won’t donate to youth charities, who will?
