They were out in force, some with their heterosexual girlfriends, others as gay as the day is long, dancing their tight little asses off to all manner of beatz.
If you haven’t heard of it, the Love Parade is a rave-y sort of affair started in Berlin in 1989, and it has since cropped up in a number of other cities, including San Francisco. Because all ages are welcome–and because a lot of Bay Area teens were still in diapers in the 90s and think this sort of thing is brand new–San Francisco LoveFest is a place where dance-music afficionados, party monsters and party-starved adolescents come together for an afternoon of eardrum bursting beats. Oh, and lots of ecstasy. The Parade goes up Market Street, with a series of floats packed with huge sound systems, and then the floats “circle the wagons” around Civic Center where the kids can bounce between dance-pop, deep house, electro and whatever the hell else they’re calling a sub-genre these days.
For us, it was just another opportunity to take iPhone photos of supple young flesh. Please enjoy.
