Authorities Shut Down Michigan Gay Sex Club For Violating Emergency Orders

Looking to go to a sex club in Lansing, Michigan? Well, too bad! Authorities have shut down a Lansing gay sex club that had previously refused to close over COVID concerns.

Ingham County Health Officer Linda Vail served a cease-and-desist letter to Fantasies Unlimited and Tabu Nightclub on Friday, causing the businesses to close their doors. Vail said business “hasn’t been allowed to be open yet” under the state’s emergency orders on the coronavirus. Vail also said the businesses were served a cease-and-desist letter last week, but it was ignored. They only closed their doors when they received a second cease-and-desist letter on Friday afternoon.

Fantasies Unlimited and Tabu Nightclub share the same storefront in Lansing. Fantasies seems to be your typical sex shop – selling lube, dildos, and poppers. Tabu is attached to the store and describes itself as a “men’s alternative lounge” focusing on “Gay, Bi, Trans Men with a BDSM Flavor.” Vail specifically called out Tabu for breaking social distancing guidelines.

“…There’s a club in the back room which has been opening and there’s a lot of close contact,” Vail told Lansing City Pulse. “No way they are 6 feet apart.”

We’re sure it’s impossible to practice social distancing in any sex club, let alone one that describes itself as a maze.

“It is complete with a large maze, changing areas, booths and more!” reads Tabu’s website. “It contains an extensive network of paths and hedges designed as a puzzle through which one has to find a way, and in our case, it is very dark and made with walls that have a few holes in them.”

Tabu received a lot of attention earlier this week from conservative news site PJ Media. They criticized the state for allowing a business like Tabu to stay open and seemed to be really bothered by the club’s glory holes.

“There is perhaps nothing more confusing than Democrat governors’ orders during the Chinese WuFlu pandemic. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is by far the worst. That was made clear with the news that a gay swinger’s club with “glory holes” is being allowed to operate under her nose in Lansing,” read the website. “Gay swinger’s club is essential… Strangers servicing each other through holes in a basement wall in the state capitol is perfectly fine. I guess group sex is an “essential” activity in the Democrat-run state of Michigan.”

What do you think of the situation? Should Tabu have tried to stay open? Should they have shut their doors when they received their first cease-and-desist letter? Sound off in the comments below.

  1. UniVersal Potentate

No. Fighting the plandemic is not a rightwing conservative thing like the media likes to pretend it is. People from all over the political spectrum are fighting this one.
It just happens that conspiracy theorists, who think EVERYTHING is a conspiracy, are also on the same side as the rest of us.

  2. I’m not surprised. They should have done it without a letter! To continue, given what we know NOW, is infantile, wreckless and obscene!

    1. yup you are correct sir, they should have closed just as a precaution. I will not add any adjectives LOL
