Gay porn performer Alex Riley died on Sunday, May 9 at the age of 22. The news of his passing has been confirmed by his boyfriend, his coworkers, and by Helix Studios. His cause of death has not been revealed.
“To all of Alex’s friends and fans.. on Monday I got a phone call from Alex’s best friend that Alex passed away early Sunday Morning,” tweeted Alex’s boyfriend and Helix costar Jacob Hansen. “Rest In peace babe you will always be part of me no matter where my life takes me.”
Early Thursday afternoon, Jacob also announced that he had started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses. At the time of publication, the fundraiser had reached over $1,000 of its $10,000 goal. You can donate and read more info about the GoFundMe here.
Alex was most known for his work at Helix Studios where he was an exclusive model. The beloved actor began working with the studio in 2019 and went on to star in over 30 videos with the company. Alex was featured in many of the studio’s biggest projects of the last year and even went on to get nominated for a slew of awards throughout the 2020 award season.
The performer tied with Nic Sahara for Best Newcomer at the 2020 GayVN Awards. Alex was also nominated for Best International Porn Star at the 2020 Prowler Awards and Best Newcomer at the 2020 Grabbys, Cybersocket Awards, and Str8UpGayPorn Awards.
“We are heartbroken over the loss of Alex Riley, one of the most vibrant and talented young performers we’ve ever had the privilege to work with,” reads a statement from Helix Studios. “Please respect his family’s privacy during this devastatingly difficult time. We love you, rest in peace Alex.”
Since the news of his death broke, many of Alex’s friends and coworkers have taken to social media to celebrate Alex and his life. Many talked about the performer’s infectious smile and emphasized that he was the “purest and happiest of souls.”

The cause of death has been identified as suffocation. Alex probably woke up in the middle of the night due to an overwhelming stench in his room. He went in for a sniff of his armpits to check if it was him who was stinking. Unfortunately a big chunk of his armpit bush came off and caught in his airways causing his to suffocate and pass away.
