MIX NYC, which has programs to promote, preserve, and produce queer experimental film, is hosting a benefit, online auction this week on eBay, auctioning disposable cameras that contain undeveloped negatives shot by various celebrities, including the boys of CockyBoys, porn stars James Deen and Colby Keller, and Warhol Superstar Holly Woodlawn.
One can only assume that at least James Deen and Colby will throw some dick pics in there, for collectors. And for charity.
Other celebs who contributed cameras full of these “unseen selfies” include James Franco (obvi), Lea DeLaria (who shot stuff on the set of Orange Is the New Black), Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Julie Bowen, Michael Cera, I Want Your Love director Travis Mathews, Amy Sedaris, Mink Stole, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, John Cameron Mitchell, Pandora Boxx, Buck Angel, Betty Buckley, Christian Coulson, Parker Posey, Justin Vivian Bond, Le1f, Tammie Brown, Sally Jessy Raphael, and Jake Shears.
There’s a kickoff party Thursday evening, May 15, at The Slipper Room in New York, emceed by Ru Paul’s Drag Race contestant Alaska Thunderfuck. Tickets start at $25.
And, just so you know, MIX NYC is the nonprofit home of the New York Queer Experimental Film Festival, originally founded in 1987. It is also home to the ACT UP Oral History Project, and the fiscal sponsor of the award-winning 2013 documentary How to Survive a Plague.
