Brain Surgery & Complications For Gay Porn Star Jimmy Durano

Following a serious accident, a pair of stays in ICU, and two surgeries with at least one more on the horizon, Jimmy Durano faces a long, hard journey.

Shortly after Easter, Jimmy Durano was involved in an accident.

While he was visibly banged up, that did little to show how serious the injuries were internally – specifically, to his brain.

At first, Jimmy was able to keep his friends, families, and fans up to date.

But a hard shift in the road now has others posting on his behalf.

 
His husband, Christian Owen has been by his side this whole time. He spent the first 9 days of ICU staying 24/7 at the hospital sleeping in a chair next to him. Unfortunately, not all of this is covered by insurance. That led a close friend to start a GoFundMe, “Jimmy Durano Needs Our Help”

Jimmy recently had a very serious accident that required brain surgery. This surgery was followed by over two weeks in the hospital for recovery, mostly in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The doctors were forced to remove part of his skull during his surgery and, due to swelling in his head they cannot immediately replace part of the skull. He will be doing physical and occupational therapy to help build back his strength.
To keep safe he must now wear a helmet just to leave the house. Only when the swelling goes down can they replace the skull. This will require an additional surgery and recovery period.

After the first surgery and hospital recovery period, he was released to go home but was still in great pain. He was doing better, but after being home a while, things got worse. He was in great pain and had further had complications so he was taken back to the emergency room. After further testing, it was determined that he had a serious infection. This required the put a PICC line.

“A PICC line is a thin, soft, long catheter (tube) that is inserted into a vein in an arm, leg or neck. The tip of the catheter is positioned in a large vein that carries blood to the heart. The PICC line is used for long-term intravenous (IV) antibiotics, nutrition or medications, and for blood draws.”
This required a second surgery and Jimmy is once again in great pain and in the in the ICU. When he is released there will be another very long recovery period. Unfortunately, not all of this is covered by insurance.

With the multiple surgeries we hope he will be able to work in the future, but for now, he will be laid up for a very long time and the future is unknown. It is expected he will be in recovery for at least an additional 6 months to a year after he is released from the hospital following this second surgery, and will require at least one more surgery and recovery period after that. He will not be able to do any of the work he loves so much: dancing, personal appearances, scenes shoots, graphic design. While out of work the medical bills and living expenses are not stopping, nor will they during the additional surgery and hospital stay. It’s not in Jimmy’s optimistic nature to worry, but this time he is scared of what the future could look like.

 
On a personal note, my mother battled with glioblastoma multiforme, the same brain cancer Senator McCain was diagnosed with. I know from experience, brain surgery is no joke.
