My coworker Dan Carrington published a list of the 20 best dressed stars on the 2020 GayVN Awards red carpet earlier today. While he selected many great looks from the red carpet, they weren’t my personal favorites. And since I’m a selfish bitch who has to insert his opinion into every forum possible, I’ve decided to do my own list of the top looks of the night!
You can tell just by looking at both of our lists that Dan and I have very different aesthetics. However, there are a couple crossover looks that appear on both lists! I wasn’t influenced by anything Dan wrote though, this right here is my list. It’s my turn to share my fashion opinions! I’ve seen a solid one and a half seasons of Project Runway and I’ve half-watched every E! red carpet that I’ve been alive for. Who is more qualified than me to judge stranger’s fashion choices?
Now amongst the larger crowd at the show there were a lot of visible fashion trends. There was an excess of loud statement blazers that made everyone look like Chris from season one of The Circle. All the Zaras within 200 miles were sold out every sheer and floral shirt they had. Wearing a shirt under a blazer was apparently illegal, so everyone just walked around shirtless. And then, of fucking course, leather harnesses. All the harnesses you could ever dream of. But let’s ignore a lot of those basic looks and focus on the ones that made my jaw drop.

Cute and simple! Plus he can wrap himself up if it gets cold during the award show.

I’m pretty sure this is from Forever 21 and I’m obsessed. He was doing Lana-shopping-at-Dillards before Lana was even doing Lana-shopping-at-Dillards.

A neutral look with a bold heel. We have to stan.

A feather collar and a mask? I am getting Lady Gaga wearing Alexander McQueen at the 2009 VMAs and I am loving every second of it.

This looks like an outfit one of Adam Lambert’s band members would have worn in 2011. Weirdly ok with it. Toot!
6. Nick Osin
This is by far the best “traditional menswear but don’t wear a shirt or add some harness situation to it” look at this entire event.

5. Deep Dicc
I don’t know if the outfit is intentionally supposed to be the same color as the GayVN logo, but the color coordinating just makes the outfit look even better in photos.

DeAngelo could have been a contender for the #1 spot on this list, but two different people wore the exact same suit to this same event. So while he looks amazing, and by far and away wore it the best, we’ve seen it!

This look coming in at the top spot should come as a shock to literally no one. She’s got a point. She’s an icon. She’s a legend and she IS the moment.

This the 2nd award show that Chase Brown and Kyle Ross have walked the red carpet together.
Kirk Cummings looked AMAZING! And I have to say he rocked his red heels WAY better than Diego Sans.
