Rick and Shawn Frenette proudly displayed their love via a rainbow
happy face on the back of their pick-up truck were pulled over by the
Canada Border Service Agency upon re-entry to Canada while the pervy
agents demanded the passwords to the couple’s locked files. Rick
Frenette is fighting mad and wants to make sure this doesn’t happen to
others.
“We want to let people know
they shouldn’t have any pornographic material, period,” says Rick.
“It’s just a pissoff. People aren’t aware of it.”
While
gay porn isn’t illegal to possess, make or sell in Canada, it can be
difficult to import even if for personal use. Specifically objectional
material seems to be watersports and bondage flicks, a hold over from
the days when lesbian feminist Catherine McKinnon helped co-author a
Supreme Court decision that equated pornography with hate crimes.
