We know you’re used to only seeing porn star DeAngelo Jackson appear in must-watch bareback fuck scenes, but the 2021 GayVN Performer of the Year is about to expand his list of credits with his official mainstream acting debut! Starting later this week, fans will be able to see DeAngelo show off his acting chops on the Here TV short-form series Collar Confessions.
The show, inspired by the book Collar Confessions: Sharing the Man of God by Dwight O’Neal, is set to premiere on Friday, October 8 and according to Metro Weekly, will see the Men.com actor playing Quentin, the husband of a pastor. Pastor Eddie, played by Nathaniel J. Ryan, is a “preacher harboring secrets and attempting to make a fresh start with his husband” after he burnt down his church in a jealous rage.
“I have always dreamed of doing more than adult film work,” Jackson said. “When I first read the book, I was thrilled to be able to bring one of the characters to life. After learning the series would be a thriller and I would get to perform stunts on camera and learn fight choreography, I was sold!”

This isn’t the first time DeAngelo has recently made headlines for his work outside of the bedroom. Earlier this year, it was announced that DeAngelo would appear in the NoirMale documentary Being Black In Porn. The doc, directed by DeAngelo and set to be released this fall, will tackle the issue of racism in the gay porn industry while featuring stars like Max Konnor, Dillon Diaz, and August Alexander.
“We tried to reach a lot more models than we were able to get, but it really took some bravery for the performers we did interview to speak up,” DeAngelo told OFM about the upcoming film. “It can be a little scary. You can risk your career speaking out. You can be blacklisted. So I know it’s going to be controversial when it comes out, but you take the good with the bad, and I am excited for it to get out there for the masses to see. It’s something that my manager and I have been working on for so long.”

According to MetroWeekly, DeAngelo says that he’s also planning on leaving the porn industry in the future. The publication’s story states that the model is “focused on landing more acting roles, ‘and just trying to carve out my own lane.'”
“As I slowly try to transition out of porn, I want to leave it better off than when I first got into the industry. I don’t want it to be the same way it was ten years ago. That’s the least I can do,” DeAngelo said in reference to “advocating for equal pay and better scripts for Black performers, and more people of color behind the camera.”

Not a fan after seeing him do trans porn.
If you make a name for yourself in porn, do more porn…or become a director…or start a studio that treats models of color better. There are actually many hats one can wear within the sex work industry. If you’re popular and somewhat savvy, some of those hats can be quite lucrative.
Mainstream is overrated and crossovers have proved impossible even for hetero, white models. And of course there’s the sad tale of Colton Ford’s singing career…
Not surprised. He is a very good looking man. He has held his own in what ever roles given in porn. I can see him being successful no matter what part of the entertainment industry he finds himself in.
