Fleet Week Fuels Rumors, But Falcon Not Going Bareback

Todd Montgomery doesn’t “give a crap what the industry says”: sales of the title have been through the roof, the consumers have been clamoring for it and scientific evidence says that the risk of HIV transmission through oral sex is minimal if possible at all. “Nothing suggests that what we are doing enhances the risks that models face,” says Montgomery. “This is all optional — our rule of thumb is that if you don’t do it at home, don’t do it here.”

While studios like Raging Stallion and Lucas Entertainment have allowed incidental oral cum shots, or filmed oral cum shots when actors request them, they have not been common practice since condoms became required in the early 90s. “When RJ Danvers asked if he could eat a little of Justin Christopher’s cum on GRUNTS, we said sure,” said Chris Ward. “But we don’t ask and many of our guys don’t even know that we do them, it’s so infrequent.”

When asked about their own oral cum shot policy, Titan Media’s Keith Webb said it was “a slippery slope that can lead down the road to bareback. Oral cumshots without AIM standard testing, at the very least, is unacceptable and unethical.”

Longtime safe sex advocate Chi Chi LaRue said that she edits out oral cum shots when they happen by accident and tells guys no when they ask to do them. “Don’t say you’re for safer sex and then film oral cum shots. Studios that film oral cumshots, they’re trying to be on both sides of it.”

Montgomery isn’t balking. “People in this industry can read the tea-leaves any way they like. Falcon Studios isn’t doing bareback and our core brands will never be bareback… People should be careful when they get on their soap box — it can come back to bite you.”

  1. There is no such thing as safe sex – only safer sex. I have always assessed the risks and made my own choices – which, I presume, is also the case with those who perform in adult films.

If the story had been that Falcon had threatened to dump an actor because he refused to take a load then I might understand some of the reactions, but that isn’t the case.

To Anonymous, who links to the SFAF web site – I would emphasise the quote differently:

“There are, however, a few documented cases where it appears that HIV was transmitted orally. These cases are all attributed to ejaculation in the mouth”

The attribution is usually because no other known transmission vector has been identified. I would also be wary of reading too much into something that has no source or date associated with it.

  2. Falcon sucks ass.. all their guys are so bland and boring…that Rhodes guy looks like a dumb meathead..der stick it in here…

  3. The BIGGER truth is that the gay community has allowed porn to define their existence far too much and far too deeply. Now you have gay for pay, bare backing and other silly forms of porn. I do not care if you are gay or straight I just want to get off. I do care about bareback sex as there is NO reason for it on many levels for example:

Those gay men who are HIV+ and do not want to participate in a 100 Load Weekend or have bareback sex for the sake of it are swept up into the arena with those who do.

Gay men are 100% men and there are no buffers on sexuality and sex; YES there is a difference. So you continue to see straight men for gay men because money talks and after all it is a sex act not a way of life.

If we are to be defined by our sex life as a gay community we are entirely too limited. I continually ready about “he can’t be straight if he is having sex with a man”. Yes, he can be full of self-loathing for gays or just needing to pay off that student loan. It is really a shame that the gay community has launched and sustained far too many “straight men”.

In addition, these websites that promote “straight men are having gay sex” such as Sean Cody and countless others is pandering to the purse and nothing more. Should it be something more I am NOT sure of that but at least look at it for what it is grab your favorite lubricant and enjoy.

  4. Dammit janet: I agree that this is serious but I’m not sure if comparing rough S&M to life-threatening behavior is actually an apt metaphor.

Also: Herpes isn’t found in semen. It comes from skin-to-skin contact.

Having said that, I do think this is a bad movie and Falcon might be testing the waters for a new bareback line.

  5. And this all comes on the heels of yet another round of layoffs at the Falcon offices yesterday, with 10%+ of the staff being laid off.

  6. This is not an idle issue. Being gay is still something people have to discover about themselves in an often hostile straight environment. Porn can be the only way a young queer or questioning person learns about his sexual identity. If porn continues to make it seem erotic to take unnecessary risks, we are teaching that lesson to the gay community of tomorrow.

  7. I would be in favor of a boycott of any company/film that practices unsafe sex, but I suspect that ultimately nobody really cares. The morals of the small head always outweigh the morals of the big one.

  8. Todd Montgomery seems to think that because customers clamor for it and sales are through the roof, that justifies allowing models to engage in unsafe sex practices. That’s fucked-up thinking. And nothing suggests that oral cum shots increase a model’s risk? I suppose that’s true if you don’t look for the information and your employees are too spineless or uncaring to contradict you. HIV is not the only transmittable dsease. Would Mr. Montgomery take an oral cum shot in his mouth if he was told his partner MIGHT have herpes?

Note his wording in the last paragraph above: “Falcon Studios isn’t doing bareback and our core brands will never be bareback.” Now read it more closely: “FALCON STUDIOS isn’t going bareback…” Does that mean that IF they secretly owned a small bareback company, technically he’s not lying? Also: “…and our CORE BRANDS will never be bareback.” So Falcon, Mustang and Jocks will never have condomless anal sex. Doesn’t the wording imply that another label is in the works? A BB one? Or perhaps it could be that the secret fantasy BB company that I’ve suggested may be already operating. Or maybe it won’t be a secret. Imagine this scenario: Todd Montgomery presents Plus Video, a BB company. If he’s taken to task about it, all he has to say is “Well, I said Falcon would never go BB, and it’s not Falcon. I also said our core brands will never go BB, and Plus is not a core brand.” Simple, right? The Karl Rove playbook is not limited to politics.

I find this reprehensible. If customers clamor for models to put lit cigarettes out on each other, would Falcon do it? After all, nothing suggests that there’s any longterm enhanced risk in doing this. What if customers ask to see one model spank another one so hard his ass turns black and blue? After all, bruises heal, right? Would Falcon start doing that? (Okay, maybe Mustang.)

Mr. Montgomery says, “People should be careful when they get on their soap box-it can come back to bite you.” So can throwing your ethics, along with the safety of your employees, under the bus. And all for a buck. Oh, wait. Sales are through the roof. I guess I meant, all for a LOT of bucks. I forgot about that. Okay, that makes it all right.

  9. Oral sex with ejaculation into the mouth is a higher risk sex act…period. Anyone that says otherwise is either lying or an idiot!

    http://www.sfaf.org/aids101/sexual.html

“There are, however, a few documented cases where it appears that HIV was transmitted orally. These cases are all attributed to ejaculation in the mouth (i.e., exposure to semen, not pre-seminal fluid).”

“…it is incorrect to equate the risk of oral sex with ejaculation to the risk of oral sex without.”

“This means unprotected oral sex without ejaculation is a very low risk activity for HIV transmission.”
