Daryll Rowe continued to spread HIV while on bail.
Rowe, 27, was convicted at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday of trying to deliberately infect 10 men with the virus and infecting five of them.
Two of the infections happened while he was out on bail. People are pissed at the police and demanding answers.
Others are worried this case will further the stigma of the disease and asking if criminal law the right way to stop the spread of HIV.
Who is right? They both are. What Daryll Rowe is criminal. But being HIV+ is not a crime.
The point here, if Darryll Rowe spread a non-sexually transmitted disease, it would not be conflated to the community he belonged to.
That’s where we come in. Truth is power. It would be a crime in not spreading that.
