EXCLUSIVE: Reality and Sex with Celebrity Big Brother UK Star Austin Armacost

Austin Armacost, star of The A-List: New York and two seasons on Celebrity Big Brother UK (Season 16)/ All Stars Season 19) recently started his own OnlyFans page. He sat down with me to discuss everything from reality stardom to sex and sexuality.

I had so much fun talking with Austin. He’s smart, funny, and knows himself. Though, he admits it took him a loooong time to get there. And, he’s proud of his body–something that isn’t exactly conventional “model” material, but (IMO) sexy just the same.

Austin Armacost can be found across Great Britain as one of the new celebrities faces taking part in a new campaign for National HIV Testing Week. The Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK’s largest HIV organization, gathered some influential LGBTQ figures, including Austin.

Austin, the former beau of fashion icon  Marc Jacobs, rose to fame on the logo series The A-List: New York, and followed up that success by appearing on Big Brother. He just bought a house in Northern England. with his partner Darren.

Below is our full conversation with Austin, lightly edited for clarity from a text exchange. Read on if you want to find out what it’s like being trapped in a house with a bunch of hot guys.

Scott Rogers: First question, before we get to the OnlyFans stuff, how did your reality television career start? How did you come to be cast is the A-List?

Austin Armacost: I moved to NYC to model at the age of 18. I quickly met Marc Jacobs (no joke, on MySpace) and we really hit it off. Nights out, dinners, traveling together… meanwhile being photographed and written about. A couple years later Logo TV was looking for gay men in NYC that were “high society.” I was not interested in being on TV at the time but they actually contacted me because they wanted to use my relationship with Marc Jacobs as a storyline. I went for a meeting with the executive producers and walked out with a contract. I think my willingness to discuss my past, my honesty, and my no-bullshit approach was very appealing for reality television. After two successful seasons the show was not picked up for a third season. I continued to do clothing and underwear endorsements, as well as magazine covers.

I was contacted by a London agent who had seen me in a nude spread in Gay Times and asked if I would be interested in going into the Celebrity Big Brother house. I said sure, that sounds like an exciting adventure. I was cast in CBB season 16 which was themed “UK Vs. USA” so half the contestants were american celebrities like Janice Dickinson, Jenna Jameson, & Farrah Abraham. After coming runner up that season, I was invited back in 2017 on the CBB “All Stars” edition. I have since done several shows since leaving the CBB house for the second time as an established LGBTQ personality in the UK and Europe.

At this point, I’m not too interested in being in front of the camera as I have a successful PR business “behind the scenes.” I have turned down a couple shows in 2019 and don’t plan on doing more television moving forward. I have an amazing man who I just celebrated 3 years with and we love traveling the world. I am also a global food and travel writer so work and play go seamlessly together.

So what then led you to start your OnlyFans account?

Different from the USA, in the UK there are several celebrities who use OnlyFans as an interactive platform for their fans and don’t post much more than what Instagram allows. I’ve always been proud of and loved my body so never have much on in my Insta posts. After getting out of my first marriage, which lasted 10 years and began when I was only 19, I felt I wanted to regain and take control of my sexuality. As soon as I started my OnlyFans, within 3 days I had around 400 fans so the financial benefit was immediately obvious. I began getting more and more risqué as it became obvious most OnlyFans accounts are created for that. As I am not a porn star I do not create content with other people… my boyfriend has been in a few of my posts though and he has a very thick and long tool in his toolbox to help me work.

In addition, I do like to take time and respond to every message people send and love to chat with my fans.

I have actually had some serious abuse on the sight from other creators making fun of my weight and not being as “ripped” as they are… I feel a bit sorry for people who feel they need to have a 6 pack & 2% body fat to be interesting. To them I say “there’s more to me than posting sexy pics with a 29 inch waistline babes.”

In 2017 you mentioned you were “asexual.” Was that quote taken out of context? Has joining OF helped changed your perception of your own sexuality?

That comment was completely out of context, yes. I said that during an interview in reference to my sexual relationship with my ex husband. Neither one of us were interested in sex with one another and our sex life all but fizzled out. Since I was faithful, I had no recourse to explore my sexual side. Once my new partner (who is very well experienced) taught me a thing or two…I explored every aspect, and every inch, of sex and love with him! I have now been living in Europe for ten years and most people’s perception of sexuality here is similar. Live, love, laugh, & fuck!

What does the interactions with supportive fans mean to you?

I believe joining OF has helped mold me sexually as sex was something I abandoned for nearly ten years. Discovering your sexuality in your 30s when you are driven and a confident person definitely gives you a different outlook than exploring in your late teens.

So if you’re still unsure of yourself and awkward in your 20’s, that’s ok? Such an important message. Can I ask, are you monogamous in this new relationship, or was that such an issue in your previous that you’re now open?

Sexuality is an ever evolving, fluid form of human interaction. I don’t think I will every be content with who I am sexually. Don’t be scared to explore, but always be safe.

My boyfriend and I are in a monogamous relationship. I know a lot of people are unhappy in monogamous relationships and want MORE, but we have an extremely healthy sex life and satisfy each other daily. 😉

Awesome!! Film more of it! Lol! What is the biggest difference between Gay Culture in Europe vs. America?

I think the biggest difference between American and European gay culture would have to be the hang ups. There is SO MUCH no strings attached sex in Europe not only in the privacy of people bedrooms… but nightclubs, saunas, outdoor cruising, gay beaches, and more. While there is a lot of NSA sex in the states, I feel it is more “in private & behind closed doors” than here in Europe. Even in the heterosexual community, places like Berlin, Amsterdam, and other cities have straight sex clubs… I don’t know of one in the states for straight people?

Interesting about the NSA sex. I would’ve thought it was the other way round.

Well, that comes from somebody who hasn’t lived in America in ten years so I could be wrong now, Lol.

Are you really a villain or did you just play one on TV?

I am in NO WAY a villain LOL! I think because I was the youngest on the show  and had the least to lose so I was always the one who would go buck wild. I also always try to come from a place of good when “speaking the truth” which true TV villains don’t do. I don’t ever intentionally want to upset anybody or hurt anybody’s feelings. Unfortunately, many times, the truth does hurt.

If you could create your fantasy dinner party which four people would you invite?

Firstly, Gus Kenworthy. What a modern day gay icon who has don’t great things for this us. Bridging the gap between mainstream and the LGBTQ communities I’m sure has helped so many young people. Also, he looks damn good doing it.

Princess Diana. What a pioneering woman in every aspect. As a mother breaking from royal tradition in numerous ways to stand on her own and not become a drone of the monarchy. Being a leader in acceptance of gay men dying from AIDS before we knew much about it.

Celine Dion. When I was coming to discover I was gay around age 7, she sang the 1996 Olympic song “Power of the Dream” and I was entranced by her performance. As I got older and heard her music, her voice, and saw how regal and sophisticated she was…I fell in love!

Dustin Lance Black… as the literal and metaphorical face of the gay rights movement in America and around the world. I am so loved by his dedication and determination that he displays daily!

What do you hope your fans take away from your OnlyFans? I mean, yeah there’s the whole getting off aspect…but are you hoping your fans get something deeper out of it? (No pun intended.)

Of course. As I’ve said many times I’m not your lean, big muscled, 8 pack pornstar… I hope people can see that I am a little “husky” and still own and love my body. Physicality comes in all different shapes, sizes, & shades. Own your body! Own your sex!
