Do you remember us telling you about New Mexico Democrat Roger Montoya? The state House of Representatives candidate who was outed by a conservative blog for having a gay porn past? Well, he just won his big election and is officially New Mexico’s first openly LGBTQ member of the state House!
The New York Times is reporting that Montoya received 47% of the vote for District 40 while his Republican opponent Justin Salazar-Torrez only earned 43% of the vote. Neither Montoya or Salazar-Torrez have publicly commented on the projected results of the election.
Montoya, who you may better know by the stage name of Joe Savage, previously starred in two adult films in the 1980s when he was 22 years old. One of those projects came from Falcon Studios and shows the young hunk paired with Jeff Converse in a bareback outdoor flip-fuck.
When he was outed as a former performer early last month, Montoya took to social media to express regret over his past career decisions.
“I am not proud of that choice, as I was young and naïve, but those experiences helped me to understand the exploitation young people face,” Montoya wrote. “Those experiences do not reflect who I am, and they are insignificant in the scope of my life’s work, yet they helped inspire my dedication to my community and the work I do to make sure that youth have opportunities, support and confidence.”
Montoya ended his statement with the reassurance that he’s going to stay in the race and that he trusts voters to make the right decision come election day. And spoiler alert – looks like he put his trust in the right place!

Exactly. His past was not a mistake but a learning experience. He was very fortunate to get out when he did at the start of the HIV/AIDS period.
Kinda he still contracted HIV and he lost a partner to HIV sadly. He’s been through his own struggle.
