Former Gay Porn Star Logan McCree Featured in BBC Doc on Men’s Rights Activism

Says the former GayVN Performer of the Year: “As a men’s rights activist, you are constantly being silenced. Society as a whole has an issue listening to men’s issues because it makes us feel uncomfortable. We don’t really like to hear about men being vulnerable.”

Earlier this month, we shared some of the musing Logan McCree, aka Philipp Tanzer, was sharing on Twitter. Now, his cause and life are the main focus of a 24-minute BBC documentary on YouTube (see below). It visits Tanzer in Scotland and follows him to Chicago for the 2019 International Conference on Men’s Issues, a summit attended by members of the “manosphere”—people who think men are the disadvantaged ones in society. (But not before a funny and awkward interlude from a disgusted stranger who hears him talking to the reporter…see below.)

It’s a fascinating watch as it shares some…um…unique perspectives on men’s rights and feminism, especially when we arrive in Chicago. “It would be good if we could look at the positive aspects and the negative aspects both of women and men in a balanced way,” Tanzier says, later noting that it was during his three years in the military where “I noticed for the first time real problems in society when it came to men.”

It also provides a window into some of McCree’s life before the industry, and ends with a tragic tale about the death of his mother—which makes his distrust of domestic violence statistics all the more jaw-dropping.

On his days in the porn industry: “I’m not a huge fan of porn because of the way sexuality is portrayed, but I thought that if I was working in porn, maybe I could bring something into that business that it’s lacking…some emotion, something personal,” he shares. “My plan to bring something positive to the porn industry I would say overall failed.”

it’s easy to hate = one way or the other. The challenge in life is to love both men and women. Why? Because it is possible. Said by a “gold star” gay man, out for 50 years, who doesn’t find it easy. Phillip Tanzer is a very hot man, a man I could love., because he seems up to the challenge.

    1. huh? how does a gold star gay man out 50 years “love” women? do you do their hair and makeup? Why is bisexuality more challenging than plain old gay? you make no sense

  3. I was prepared to be flip and sarcastic. That doesn’t mean I agree with his premise that men are put upon by feminism, although I have met women who are anti-male. It’s unpleasant to be treated with disdain, disrespect, and violence just because of who you are, wether you are male, female, a person of color, your religious beliefs, or your economic status. As an openly Gay man, I have suffered physical, mental, and emotional violence throughout my life because there are people who feel threatened by me and how I’ve chosen to openly live my life. But I am secure in my own identity, so I’m not threatened by Feminism. I try to treat other people the way I’d like to be treated, with dignity.
