Gay-For-Pay Stars Fall in the Woods, Make a Sound

Pat Bateman (left) incited lesbian-like indignance from hordes of gay men recently when he balanced a pussy mag on a studly trick’s back while pounding him doggy-style. Bateman seemed surprised that gay men would take offense to this hetero posturing, and he tried to make amends. As far as we were concerned, it was cum under the bridge.

But a recent uncovering of Bateman’s Rentboy profile makes things interesting.  Under orientation he marks “bisexual,” not “straight.” Someone’s doing some inner pole-searching!  Either Bateman is bi and coming to terms with it, or he’s as straight as ever but is becoming more hip to the needs of his more sensitive fans.

Unlike Bateman, perma-tanned amateur stud Cody Cummings hasn’t yet received a slap on the wrist from these nun-like gays. That’s probably about to change with his latest blog posting, in which he writes that “the worst part” about sleeping with men is…sleeping with men.

Am I bi? No, I’m not. In my personal life it’s just girls. How hard is it to shoot a scene with a guy when I’m not into it? I don’t know how to answer that. Hard, real hard,  not to hard because I chose to do it. It is the worst part of my job. But I love this job. To stay hard I watch porn or go to that special place in my head. That’s the hard part … To stay hard and interact is the hard part. But I can do it … A part of me must be bi, right. It might only be 5%. But I have a couple budddies [who] would rob a bank before letting a guy give them head. Not me =)

Hear that clucking in the distance, Cody? That’s the sound of a bunch of Advocate subscribers coming to get you. Better find a fly swatter.

    @ Tre:
Why is it a problem? Why does it threaten you that people who identify as straight will have sex with a man? Is it because gay sex is abhorrent, and the only reason one would do it is because they are in fact a “true” gay person? Clearly not. Is it because straight-identified men who bend the boundaries challenges your tidy little gay/straight dichotomy? I would say probably. Stop trying to impose your ideas of what ‘proper’ gender roles straight and or gay or bi or queer or WHATEVER people should occupy. If someone calls himself straight, but decides to suck a cock for a few bucks, dont pay for it.. Leave your 70s-era morality out of it. As for ‘true’ straightness, it doesn’t exist, nor does ‘true’ gayness, thats the point that should be taken for granted, and I reject your essentialisms. It is up to each subject to navigate their own sexuality, and shame on you for judging someone else’s, even if he is himself a bigot. As a ‘gay’ man, you should know better.

    1. First off. I’m not a gay man. I’m a bisexual man who also proudly admits to being a lot more gay than straight, but have sexual attractions to both men and women and can’t easily has sex with either because of that attraction.
As a porn actor, producer, director, or what have you, we must be responsible for the message we put out there in the product we put out. And I take my responsibilty in this wholeheartedly. Maybe you’re at a point where your sexual identity is solid. But there are others whose identities are in limbo like mine was less than a decade ago, so my speaking out against “gay-for-pay” is for them. When “gay-for’pay” was a behind-the scenes thing, it wasn’t a problem. It became a problem when it became a marketing ploy in mine and many other eyes because for those whose indentity is in limbo, porn may serve as some kind of guide for them to finally come out of that limbo by seeing men who are HONEST about their sexuality having sex. Especially if they’re living a double life and want to stop. “Gay-for-pay” as a marketing ploy however says, “leading that life on the DL is OK”.
If you can’t see that, or if that doesn’t concern you, then you are the negative stereotype of a narcissistic gay man. Your only concern is what you can get out of something, and not what good someone else can get from it. Hence the reason why people who live by the rules of a stereotype are most often the most loathesome of creatures.

Now you can reply to this all you want. Since I’ve stated the truth about this matter, and you, I am moving on from this subject here.

  2. The problem is for one it’s not straight guys doing gay porn, it’s “straight” guys doing gay porn. And the bigger problem is the fact that it HAS BECOME a genre, besides being a more behind-the-scenes thing. That’s when it became a controversy. And might I add, a very valid controversy.
These guys can give all the bullshit excuses they want, if they were really STRAIGHT, instead of “STRAIGHT”, as a member of free society, their cocks would never touch a man’s ass, and their ass would never allow another man to enter it. If another man entered a TRULY straight man’s ass, that straight man would cry “RAPE”, not ask “OK, where’s my check?” like the “straight” men (a.k.a. “gay-for-pay bitches in denial”).

I can’t understand why this is an issue. The whole ‘deceit’ thing aside, straight guys doing gay porn is a genre, why is he being singled out for utilizing his sexuality for monetary gain, when we ourselves as a ‘community’ seek out ‘straight studs’? Furthermore, gay guys who do porn wouldn’t sleep with most of us, either, its ALL a FANTASY. This ‘problem’ is completely fabricated and ridiculous, and relies on really arcane understanding of gender and sexuality. I can’t even enumerate the ways in which this is ridiculous. Sure Bateman is probably an asshole, and has similarities to a 2-bit hustler… but why are we barking mad at his success? Why not go down to the gaybourhood and pillory all the straight hustler assholes there, too? Something of this whole controversy reeks of mr. Advocate editor, age 18, being turned down by his flirty straight crush. Sorry to go all ad-hominem, but here’s a guy who goes on Tyra and agrees with Matt fucking Sanchez, and we’re supposed to look to him as the voice of the gay community. BS.
