As President and CEO of Falcon | NakedSword, Tim Valenti has seen a lot of gay porn over the years and since he’s seen so much action, we’d just assume that it would be nearly impossible for him to select his favorite movie of all time. According to the latest episode of Discretion Advised though, we’d be wrong with that assumption!
During the final segment of the season two premiere for the Falcon | NakedSword podcast, hosts Marc MacNamara and John Hill challenged Tim to name his number one film. Marc joked that it should be The Swords, the action adventure movie he just directed for NakedSword Originals, but Tim was confident in his top pick and was immediately ready to name his fave flick.
“Oh, Route 69, Falcon Studios!” revealed Tim. “Route 69 – a Tony Dimarco movie about four years ago. We produced it together. It’s like every single classic cliche scene you could ever have from Falcon Studios and he did it fucking beautifully.”
Released in 2017, Route 69 features some of the decade’s hottest porn stars like Skyy Knox, Alex Mecum, JJ Knight, Dustin Holloway, and Ryan Rose giving a modern twist to classic Falcon scenes and, like Tim described, has them reenacting some all-time great gay porn scenarios. I almost thought headline was “Porn CEO gets in front of the camera!”. Now that would be interesting. It would be nice to see the people that sign the checks show they completely understand what the talent does and experiences. But they rarely do. I remember when Kat Martin was editor of Playgirl and people ridiculed her for producing adult material, but that she was hypocritical. So she did it herself to she wasn’t. Is it though? Tim Valenti has produced a massive amount of porn. Why wouldn’t his favorite be from something he’s worked on? That’s like asking Stephen King what’s his favorite horror novel, and he chose one of his own books. Seeing that he’s written so many, it makes sense.
Stephen King has enough class to know it would be shallow and crass to say such a thing, at least publicly. It’s one thing to be proud of your work and have a favorite above all others. Putting it above the works of masters like Joe Gage, Fred Halstead, Jean-Daniel Cadinot or Arthur Bressan, Jr. is the ultimate liketurbate. Especially when doing a mediocre reboot of classic porn scenes. (I had such high hopes for the project.)
