Everyone had something to say about Brian Michaels and the Confederate flag inked on his palm. But what did costar Beaux Banks have to say about it & what did Brian do about it?
It doesn’t happen often folks, but we actually have a happy ending here. After you have reviewed the post, at the bottom, you will see the good news.
[ORIGINAL POST – Monday, March 19]
If you have missed the ruckus, let’s get caught up here.
Brian Michaels is a newcomer to gay porn. He has filmed once scene for College Dudes. One for Bait Buddies, and his latest is the finale of the Men.com series, “Hunting Beaux”, centered around the amazing Beaux Banks.
Brian came to the blue screen courtesy of fellow gay porn star Cliff Jensen. They met while they were both serving time together.

That is also where Brian got the now infamous tattoo. He addressed it in a now-deleted tweet back in December:
“I will be honest and say I got it in prison because I adapted to my situation. I hope a past mistake won’t hinder my self-growth through all of this. I just wanted to say that I was ignorant and led astray for a while.” ~Brian Michaels
As Beaux said in our “5 Things You Don’t Know About Me,” he’s “African American, Caucasian, Asian.” Social media quickly piled on with their opinions of Beaux doing a scene with him. But let’s hear from Beaux himself.
I didn’t even notice the tattoo while shooting. But I can say he came to set and was very professional especially for it being only the second scene of his career. He was also very respectful, other than that I don’t know much about him and can only speak on what I saw and witnessed on set, a very humble and respectful newcomer. He was a joy to work with and never disrespected me.
I’ve spoken out on racism in this industry and within our community and I don’t think that this is an example of that. ~Beaux Banks
As for the attacks on Brian in social media,
I think he’s attacked because he’s an easy target being a new Model but attacking him doesn’t help solve racism in the industry, because I don’t believe he’s contributed to racism in our industry at all. That tattoo was in poor taste and doesn’t reflect on who he is as a person today or maybe even the person he used to be or the mindset he was in when he got that tattoo. ~Beaux Banks
Let me be clear racism IS a problem in this industry, and media is a power tool and ally in advocating against it, but it needs to be done more accurately and not just based on speculation. I form my opinions on actions. ~Beaux Banks
Beaux also pointed out that many black performers are not well known beyond the confines of sites that are considered “urban”.
When another model who is well known, Jake Bass, went to twitter a few months ago and challenged the relevance of Black Performers, no media spoke up against him and challenged that example of systemic racism in our industry. It amazes me that a tattoo is garnering this kind of attention. But a direct example of racist thoughts in the industry so easily went under the radar. ~Beaux Banks
Examining the thread Beaux referred to, it’s clear what a hot-button issue race is.
But there is one part of that thread that I believe represents one of the bigger point Beaux is trying to make:
Brian Michaels nor his tat are really the issues here. Granted, someone with that ink needs to think about what he posts on social media very carefully. Likewise, getting that tat covered over might be a smart move for what it represents to so many on and off the blue screen.
Here’s the issue:
Just like in society at large, POC in gay porn are not too often given the credit for what bring to the table and/or are not really given their chance at the entire pie, but rather, just a politically correct slice of it.
And at the end of the day, one model’s ill-fated ink takes the subject away from the topic at hand: systemic racism is a problem not just in gay porn, but everywhere and we’re all guilty of one thing: being pretty clueless how to deal with it.

[UPDATE – Wednesday, March 21]
Thank you seriously for the positive people who stood up for me and didn’t spew hate and judgemental comments toward me for a mistake I made in a dark time of my life. Thanks again to @Beaux_Banks for having kind words about me. Love all my fans and thanks again. pic.twitter.com/WpwXH9wkor

Good for you, Brian. Good for you.
Great, more gay 4 pay. Jesus
I miss those halcyon days when we didn’t know about a performer’s opinions or political views. We didn’t even know their sexual orientation. They’d fuck, we’d jack off. End of story.
lol
No one is forcing to follow “news” about them. Seems to me that you are looking for the drama in porn. End of story
RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shooting with a model whos a POC kinda shows the evolution of Brian Michael, to be honest. More than many other models who claim they are not racist. Cough Cough * the jack hunters, max camerons* cough*
But let’s focus on his teeth, jesus you guys might need to make an exception to his pay so he can fix those teeth.
Um, Jack Hunter started out at Harlem Hookups. Literally has first porn performances were with a black guy.
Ah he says Asian men are a hard limit for him, that sounds pretty racist to me.
Kinda, the problem is that Jack is a big dicked bottom.
Spoken from a sheltered pampered clueless little boy who has you all fooled
How about the giant naked woman on his am? Just what every gay man wants to see when jacking off to gay porn!
Im more mad about another gay for pay pornstar in the industry
