Over the weekend, a number of performers in the gay adult industry took to the streets in protests supporting the Black Lives Matter movement—with many like Sharok, Adrian Hart and Austin Wilde being met with violence.
Here’s a sampling of some of the stories shared by performers over the weekend:
1. Austin Wilde
Today I was shot with a rubber bullet.
Today we protested peacefully.
Today people expressed their anger.
Today the police shot at peaceful protestors.
Today I became more angry. Please watch this video, which includes clips that happened just seconds from each other. pic.twitter.com/WuLC8iK3AD

They’re like hard nerf bullets, but shot out of military style weapons. It hit me from maybe 100ft away, but I wouldn’t recommend asking for it. pic.twitter.com/fREOXTiyjv

I know this is just another post to y’all. Everything I’ve seen online the past few days was that to me too. Until yesterday. The cops became spooked & started shooting gas and rubber bullets from point blank. Look how close we are, armed w nothing but cameras & hands in the air. pic.twitter.com/k7fifdoSAW

I called black members of my family this morning to ask them what else should i do? What else can i do? I can only continue to do what is available to me.. if i could change the world i would. But for now all i can do is what I’ve been doing.

This is what civil unrest looks like…. this is what happens when people are not properly protected because of the color of their skin… and just to be clear, I actually did not do this, and the police threw the first blow to the protesters #JusticeForGeorge #BlackLivesMatter pic.twitter.com/DhL509WtjP

Right now all of Manhattan below 14th is a war zone and we are in insurrection. The people are retaking this city.

I don’t know how to explain to you all the things I saw yesterday and last night in New York. All I can say is that the sun is rising on a broken America and the police are doing the breaking. If you didn’t come out yesterday, come out today, especially if you’re white.

Everyone please stay safe.
It’s funny how there are no comments posted to this article. When a porn star makes a mistake or does something embarrassing or stupid, tons of comments of ridicule. When porn stars are working to make the world a better place? NOTHING.
I’m proud of each and every one of you who have been using your platforms, celebrity, and your bodies to protest the injustice that is prevalent in America, and around the world. Keep up the good fight!!
