Candidates, crowds, engagements, jocks, porn stars, drag queens, and celebrities rock Pride Weekend around the world.
San Francisco, New York, London, Chicago, St. Louis and Mexico City along with Mayor DiBlasio, Patty & Edwina, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, the NBA and WNBA, Pulse Owner Barbara Poma, Jason Collins, and Johnny V represent a small cross-section of the face and feet who took to the streets in a global display of pride this weekend.
Hundreds of thousands around the globe took to the streets in a mixture of what the NY Times is calling a, “jubilation and solemn tributes” with a singular message for everyone: be proud of who you are every day!
For four blocks or so — beginning steps from the Stonewall Inn, the nexus of the modern gay rights movement — Hillary Clinton led a mayor, a governor, a phalanx of aides, a crush of reporters and several beleaguered security personnel on a 15-minute stroll.
Later in the evening, Hillary delivered a video message on the Pulse massacre via the gigantic jumbotrons at the Pier Dance.
In San Francisco, Nancy Pelosi, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Kamala Harris, and Mayor Ed Lee were just some of the political luminaries who joined Apple CEO Tim Cook and as reported by SFGate, “the rainbow-clad revelers and tinsel-bedecked floats heading down San Francisco’s Market Street for the annual Pride Parade,” under the watchful gaze of our own Sister Roma.
In Mexico City, Reuters is reporting more than 100K people took the streets both emboldened by tweets of solidarity from President Enrique Peña Nieto
Hoy miles de personas saldrán a marchar a las calles para celebrar la diversidad. Mi reconocimiento a la comunidad #LGBTI por la celebración
— Enrique Peña Nieto (@EPN) June 25, 2016
And to honor the Orlando victims, three of which were from Mexico
From London, “Who better to lead this year’s London Pride than Patsy and Eddy?” ask the Sun. “Actresses Jennifer Saunders and Joanne Lumley arrived in character as PR guru Edina Monsoon and fashion magazine director Patsy Stone to opening the parade. The ladies cut the big red ribbon to officially kick off proceedings and then joined the Absolutely Fabulous float and had a boogie with dancers dressed up as their characters.”
And while they did stop traffic, they didn’t stop this proposal in London,

Remember, not just day one day a year; be proud of who you are every day!
I want to see Donald Trump making a transition from male to female.
