The creative team told The Huffington Post that the photos are not intended for religious purposes, but are meant as “an artistic effort to creatively protest homophobia” in the Orthodox Church, to which nearly 90 percent of Romanians belong, and a celebration of ‘diversity, equality, and freedom.”

 
The calendar is available for advance purchase from OC.com. According to the website, “by pre-ordering the #OC2017 charity wall calendar, you have the opportunity to support disadvantaged children (Orasul Meu) living with HIV across Eastern Europe. you’re supporting disadvantaged children with HIV across Eastern Europe.”
