Following two years with no in-person ceremony, the Grabby Awards Europe—formerly the Prowler Awards—have announced dates and surrounding festivities for April of 2022, along with new categories. Do you think the industry will be ready for an in-person show in six months?
The Prowler Awards announced nominations for its awards in 2020 but postponed the ceremony, then re-branded itself as the Grabby Awards Europe in 2021—when it held a separate virtual ceremony (see the winners here) on the same day as the Grabby Awards America (see this year’s winner’s here), which also held a virtual ceremony in 2020 instead of in Chicago due to the pandemic. The ceremonies had their highs and lows, but overall the virtual Europe broadcast went off a little better (while the America version had some controversy and confusion with one of its big winners).
While there hasn’t yet been an announcement on the Grabby Awards in America, the Grabby Awards Europe have set a date of April 23rd for its award ceremony in Torremolinos, Spain. The three-day festivities will also include a gala dinner and rooftop cocktail party on April 22nd; a breakfast buffet, industry expo and nightclub after-party surrounding the awards on the 23rd; and a brunch buffet and pool party on Sunday, April 24th. The Grabbys also announced the categories for the 2022 Europe awards, including four new awards:

So far, no other major award shows have announced in-person festivities (the GAYVN Awards will be all virtual again in 2022). Do you think it’s a good idea? Do you think the Grabby Awards Europe will go off in person as planned in April of 2022?

Torremolinos has a great gay scene and it’s particularly busy during Semana Santa. Clever to schedule this event a week after Easter to extend the season so to speak.
Also, I’d like to know what happens to the porn “stars” careers if they win? Do they get exclusive contracts and make more $$$? Do the movies that win make more revenue? Or are the awards just a “celebration “ for the industry that’s really an excuse to film onlyfans videos after the after party?

No you’re not the only one. This is absolutely crazy to me. Waste of time. Do we really need to watch these guys award each other after fucking each other. Not at all.
It reminds me of when a porn performer tells us that shooting a porn scene and having sex with random people is just like an actor in a movie. No dude it’s not. You’re having full blown oral sex, penetrative sex and ejaculating orgasms on camera. Nothing like mainstream actors.
