A gay local from Portland, Maine testified that he was cruising online one night months ago when a friend invited him over for some group sex:

He said a lot of stuff was going on and it was a little over my head. He was just letting me know it was probably way more than I could handle…that some crazy stuff was going on.

The man who extended the “crazy” party invite was 50-year-old Fred Wilson, who had transformed his basement into a sex dungeon full of fuck-sessories and party favors. The defense stated that it was Wilson who asked Lavellee-Davidson to point the .22 caliber revolver at his head to heighten the sex. Then Wilson asked him to pull the trigger. Lavallee-Davidson agreed. But since Lavallee-Davidson apparently checked the weapon three times throughout the evening to make sure it wasn’t loaded, the defense speculated that Wilson secretly loaded the gun himself. If that’s true, it’s be a pretty fucked up way to kill yourself. I’d want to die during a sexathon too if I were suicidal, but that’s just selfish — not only is it a buzzkill for everyone present, but it’s also setting someone up to go to jail.

The prosecutors agree that Bruce didn’t intend to kill, they say that it was his responsibility to make sure the gun wasn’t loaded. It was also maybe a little fishy that Lavallee-Davidson and the third fuck-buddy fled the scene after Wilson died and waited a day before calling police. Lavallee-Davidson now faces 30 years in prison.
