Homecoming King

Joel Mireles, a gay student at Brazoswood High School in Clute, Texas, took on the haters and won.

After tossing his hat in the running for homecoming king, a few hater students decided to target Joel online with the hashtag #NotMyKing and actually created t-shirts people could buy.

He who laughs last, laughs best. His story in his own words is inspiring. I wouldn’t have had the balls to do that in high school, I was too busy hiding who I was. Too bad life doesn’t have a rewind button, eh? .

Not only did he get the T-shirt designed to mock him, he wore it with a crown to taunt his haters. You go boy!
