Insane Person Says Something Insane About Ryan Gosling

The fuck?

“…there’s something about him that leaves me cold, and I’m actually fascinated by the fact that he doesn’t seem to have a huge following among gay men. It’s a little perplexing to me, but it might be because his career really became big when he played a very heterosexual role in “The Notebook,” or the fact that he’s never played a character that comes close to being gay, or the fact that his self-deprecating persona isn’t over the top enough for gay culture to grasp onto. Mostly, I find him physically attractive but otherwise not particularly interesting.”

Thomas Rogers writing for Salon, but apparently living on the planet Mars.

  1. I’ve never posted before I was going to just to mention “Murder by Numbers”, but you guys bet me to it. Gosling pretty much seduces Pitt

  2. Did Rogers see Ryan Gosling in “Murder by Numbers”? There was so much of a homoerotic subtext with his character & that of Michael Pitt–they practically kissed!

    1. Thank you. I was just about to mention ‘Murder by Numbers,’ which is a great movie, and really gave Gosling a chance to lock (and lick) his lips on a role and explore exactly what this Salon dummy misses entirely — omnisexuality, dom/sub play and pursuit, and just being an all around hot motherfucker. Though I have to say, that movie is owned by Sandra Buttocks. Love her.

  3. I “sort of” agree with him. I do think Ryan is an incredibly attractive and sexually desirable man, but he doesn’t have that over-the-top appeal to gay men like Hugh Jackman or Brad Pitt. But that’s why I like him. And it’s also why he’ll have a much stronger and lasting career.

“Drive” was a fucking bad-ass movie.

  4. I do find RG extremely sexy and attractive. Where was this guys source for giving a blanket statement about him not having much of a gay following?

  5. Yeah…because gay men don’t like handsome, humble, kind, and intelligent men with abs we can’t grate cheese on; we like men our men over the top shrieking stereotypes.

    1. Exactly and maybe because most of his work has been done in indies. Which seems strange as most gay themed movies are indies.
