In the recent study conducted by universities in London, Delaware and New Mexico, it didn’t matter whether the subjects were drunkards, smokers or fatties. Intelligence, it turned out, was the only significant predictor of a man’s sperm health.
The report does not clearly define what exactly constitutes ‘sperm health,’ but the smart men had more sperm more milliliter of semen, and their sperm swam “normally” and “better,” whatever that means.
The researchers think that because one gene can influence multiple traits, intelligence and sperm quality may stem from the same gene — possibly along with other unknown characteristics.
