Check out Jeremy Bilding’s brand new, semi-insane blog here. The most recent entry — a 30-paragraph essay on how to fly on an airplane without being annoying — incorporates three references to Back to the Future. I love you Jeremy Bilding.
Here’s an excerpt from his chat with Gay Star Interviews — the full interview is here.
Gay Star Interviews: I wanted to ask you, how did you get your start in the porn business? Being from Denver, Colorado, that’s not the first place you would think of a porn star coming from.
Jeremy Bilding: Well, surprisingly there’s a lot of us from there. I know Nash Lawler and others came from out there…I had a few hookups that were like, “You should be in porn.” So I was like, alright, I’ve always wanted to. I’m having random people telling me I should do it. I started looking up stuff online and responded to a Craigslist ad for a talent scout and he put me in contact with Jake Cruise and Next Door Studios. I started filming with them and everything from there kind of exploded.
GSI: Now you have done some bareback. What are your feelings about bareback?
JB: You know, the way I feel is that doing it with Jake Cruise it’s so much more controlled than any of us just going to the bar at night. And the way I feel about it is I think that everyone in their life has had natural sex without a condom or anything, whether intentional or unintentional, they’ve done it; and at least my going through it with Jake, which was a very controlled environment where we were tested as close to the shoot date as possible with little to no outside contact until our scene was done just to control the test and get the most accurate representation on set. I can get behind that.
…With everything picking up it was getting to the point where it was like, alright, it would better that I’m promoting this healthy, happy sexual lifestyle and start using condoms. It was right around the same time that I signed with Chi Chi that I approached Jake ans said I would rather work with condoms in a scene now, which he’s fine with. I can’t deny that I’ve never had natural sex and I have a firm belief that that anyone I’ve ever met can say the same thing. We’ve all done it at some point.
GSI: You used to worked with the Boy Scouts and ran a camp. You really have a charitable side. I think I read where you that you said that if you were not doing porn that you would still be doing that type of work.
JB: Absolutely. I’m actually pursuing a degree right now in biology to orient towards camp settings with either the Boy Scouts, YMCA or whoever. I usually work with the older kids, high school age kids. Or I would be teaching high school biology. That work I find incredibly rewarding. That’s the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. Everything I’ve ever done I’ve enjoyed or I automatically quit, like a sales job I had. It was like, alright, I can attempt sales but I can’t do it and be happy about it. But that camp kind of fell into my lap. I was in between lives, so to say, and trying to figure out everything.
I was 18 years old and had been a participant at the camp and my counselor and my Boy Scout troop wanted me to go back down and work there…So I went back down there…[and] I finally realized last summer, 2008, that the happiest that I am is not when I’m making money hand-over-fist, it’s when I’m working with these kids and teaching people, removing them from their element and broadening their horizons in one way or another and watching them push themselves to do something, to learn something, to try something, enjoy what’s at hand.
GSI: That’s amazing. What rank did you reach in Boy Scouts?
JB: I reached Life. I was one Merritt Badge short of my Eagle…the only one I didn’t get was my Personal Management Merritt Badge… semi-ironic, but that’s the one.
GSI: One thing did just pop into my head. What do you see yourself doing like five years from now?
JB: You know, if I’m still doing this in five years, that’s awesome and I would love it if I still had stuff coming out; but in five years if I actually get that degree and one of the camps picks me up I will have no problem walking away from the industry to pursue working with kids. Not to say that I wouldn’t still be involved hear and there to promote the safety issue and gay acceptance and to be open-minded to pursue what you feel is right and not what everyone around you is telling you need to be doing or what is right. But if the camp came back and said, “You cannot be shooting any more,” then fine. I’ll be happy working with the kids. I love my career right now, I love shooting porn and everything, but I know down the road working with kids is where I belong.

Jeremy Bilding: Channel 1 Exclusive (Gay Star Interviews)
It's an interview with Phillip Aubrey: porn star, Spencer Reed's boyfriend, burp fetishist.
The COLT superstars joined a protest in Rome against the Catholic Church in order to make the claim that gay people are not pedophiles. There was a chihuaha involved.
I feel sorry for people with fetishes that can never be realized in real life. Take this Flickr user, who has to make do with his giants fetish using Photoshop.
I'm not one for bragging about intellectual accomplishments (it's something I learned from, you know, graduating with honors from Brown University), but Conner Habib is justifiably excited about his blurb in a book written by Carl Sagan's son.
